The Celere Sahariano, an Italian medium tank prototype developed between 1941-1942, was designed to counter British cruiser tanks in North Africa with its high mobility and decent firepower. It featured a 47 mm 47/40 mod.38 cannon, a 275-hp SPA petrol engine, a top speed of up to 55-60 km/h, and lightly sloped armor (50 mm front, 15 mm sides). Its low silhouette and Christie-type suspension made it ideal for hit-and-run tactics.
