What about capture timers (as with “conquest” maps) to prevent attackers from rushing capture points as soon as they appear. I’m not even talking about those who know maps so well they’re already waiting near the next capture point while the current one is being taken. That would give the defending team a little bit of time to reorganize and stop those stupid rushes we see often enough.
Thx for considering ![]()
you mean confrontation?
would be cool yeah.
I would rework capture points in general, gameplay now feels very rushy and haste, the pace is stressful and harsh.
Yeah there is no incentive to defend as one mistake and you can lose several point in a few minutes.
In invasion mode, capture progress is permanent, which means factions with faster capture speed will have huge advantage. And it is also why rushes are so common in these modes.
People always pay more attention to the advantages or disadvantages of weapons, ignoring that capture speed is the biggest advantage.
I personally prefer the traditional occupation mode, which is the assault mode in enlisted. Defenders can recap, making a fair fight for both attacker and defenders, and rushes are not so strong in this mode. However, DF only forcibly copied this mode from other games to enlisted without making any modifications, making this mode extremely unbalanced.
I just don’t know why DF make 2point assaults so favorable for defenders. In a 2 point assault, the attacker must completely occupy 2 points at the same time. As long as any of it is being captured, it is not considered a successful attack. In RO2, there are also 2 point assaults, but the defender not only has manpower limitations, but also need to overturn a whole point to stop attackers from moving on.
It is because the assault mode is too unbalanced that make invasion mode seemingly more fun, but permanent capture progress mechanism is no much better.
a very old suggestion. You can also remove the gray zone with a delay.
