CAP (combat air patrol) planes needs a revamp/XP rework. If a player takes time to spawn in a airplane that’s sole purpose is to shoot down other enemy air. Then he should be rewarded more than what is now if he/she does that.
I played in G-14 on Berlin today in a invasion map. I stayed up and provided CAP for entire team since I know soviets love to bomb on invasion maps. I shot down 5 ea and probably annoyed the crap out of people flying. My XP gain was very minor and I was mid/to low on xp chart. Probably because all I did was shoot down ea and nothing else. I would like to see some change for both sides. Players on both sides should be rewarded for protecting their team
True. Countering enemy CAS, although beneficial to the team, takes a full-time effort while earning very little in terms of score and rewards, to the point that pure fighters (no payload) bring next to no progression in squad upgrading, even WITH premium account.
And the extremely spongy DM of planes exponentially increases this issue.
Currently, playing a fighter in its role is totally not worth the effort.

And I think it will help solving “bombers problem” with more fighters flying, bombers can’t bomb freely
The devs should simply increase XP for shooting down planes. It should really give more points than taking out a tank but currently it gives less points since they both just count as “vehicle” and the tank has more crew.
If we’re discussing EXP gains, I’ll say that (for Infantry) anyone who’s helping cap an objective should 500 points if/when it’s taken. Of course this change SHOULD be advertised in a change log pop-up so more people are aware that they’ll get more points for playing the objective.
A cooldown time for vehicle squads would change a lot. By this it would actually matter if you killed the CAS plane as the enemy wouldnt be able to spawn another one for line 15-30 seconds.
Still need proper working DM for planes (especially for Stukas and ILs).
