Can't equip mosin 1938?

I just saw in my inventory that I had 3 mosin carbine 1938s lying around. Seeing as it is supposedly better than the 1907 variant, I wanted to equip it for my troopers. But I saw that it was red and I had to research the ability to equip troopers with this weapon. do I did, when I came back to equip the rifles, they’re still red and now there’s nothing there suggesting why I cannot equip this weapon. strange. anyone else has this?

So far only engineers can use mosin nagant 1938

Although there are squad upgrade perks for Troopers be able to equip all Mosin rifles (non scoped).

sadly there’s a lot of “soldier can equip this” and “this weapon can be upgraded” upgrades that simply do not work

Troopers need to unlock the privilege to use it. Otherwise give it to your engineers.
