The Germans still don’t have any white trousers to complete their winter set. People have been asking for this for ages, I myself posted this post a year ago: The white trousers mystery
Last update we were told the “Devs will do it”:
Just to have our hearts broken:
So I suggest the following:
•let all German infantry squads use these white pants found on sniper squads:
Because Stalingrad is an autumn campaign. Yes, they added a whole winter map and annexed Rzhev. However, seeing felt boots and white camouflage suits against a backdrop of golden foliage in a city without a single snowflake is absolutely bloody cringe. At the start of Stalingrad, this decision for the first time made me wonder if the developers were right in the head. Over the years, they’ve given me more and more reasons to question this.
This would probably be the most cost-effective solution. However, I don’t like the prospect of having two early-war winter campaigns with almost identical early-war winter customization. I think it’s better to leave the maps as is, but remove various elements of overly winter clothing. Specifically, all winter camouflage suits, felt boots, fur hats with closed ears, and so on. Clothing elements such as padded “Vatnik” jackets, greatcoats, balaclavas, and fur hats with opened ears generally look good on both the autumn maps of Stalingrad itself and the winter maps of Rzhev and STZ. This way, we’ll have one early-war winter campaign and one early-war autumn campaign, rather than staring at identical snowdrifts 99.9% of the time.
However, the best solution would be to tie customization to a biome + year set. For example, early war - winter, early war - autumn, Africa, late war - winter, and late war - summer. However, for Berlin and Seelow, as well as potential maps of Germany for the Western Allies, it would be advisable to make separate customizations. This way, we won’t have to remove the Volkssturm, but we won’t have to add it to Normandy either.
