Maybe I’m not a big enough tank expert, but when I see something like “Player1 killed Player 2 with 37mm KwK-20” I just have no idea whether that’s a stationary AT gun, a Pz II, a Pz III or something else.
Same with “7.62 MG34” - can’t know if it’s an infantry machine gunner or a tank’s coaxial MG.
Often times it’s important to know because if I am in a T-60 and I see my friendly tank get blown up not by “53mm KwK-24” but by a “Pz III” then I’ll know damn well not to go in that direction.
The only difference is where it says 7.92 MG34, that’s the definition of the Tank mounted gun.
It would make sense to say either 3.7 KwK (Pz3.b) or what not.
I do find the kill feed is overly wordy and not very slimline
I think this is impossible due to how the weapons are set up. Some tanks do in fact share the exact same weapon despite not being the same tank model. And as all weapons have a global weapon name, you would have to get copies of the same exact gun to rename them for different vehicles.
Time to become an expert.
Im a nerd for this stuff so its not an issue for me but obviously not everyone is that interest in world war two to memorize that stuff nor should they be as their are a lot of interesting things in this world. I hope they do this but also have an option to retain this version as well.
