imo a good way to buff them a bit would be to make them have X-1 number of troops than the normal ones. Just 3-4 unique squad members (lvl4 MG guys for example) and the rest should be able to be filled by normal dudes. Also just remove the concept of “unique weapons” and make the guns available in general. So the squads would be good in combat (a bit worse from a fully upgraded normal one), the buyer would have a few lvl4 weapons to use and grind the campaign quicker
I mean, I more or less said exactly that with what I was suggesting, minus the whole unique weapons aspect, though X+0/-1 depending on the squad in question, e.x. equal size for the assault squad, given free assault squads also get 4 assaulters, but for gunners, since you’re getting extra gunners in the premium squad, give them less overall members, etc.
That’s how it was before the nerf.
I never understood what the big deal was. I wiped premium squads in closed testing when they were more powerful just fine.

I cannot agree about pure P2W.
But I can abandon bonus XP but I want to use those weapons.
Some of them said PPD40 is P2W.
Mosco and belin also has PPD and PPSH.
But german is not always defeated.
It’s very clear issue.
Case of berlin. MG or SMG squad are all good.
Cause most of squad move small passage.
That’s it and that’s not P2W
Any of 4 star soilder squad with full up weapons are good together.
That’s why I can say premium squads are not OP.
he was talking about before the nerf since before that premium squads could be as strong as 7 men, and premium soldiers had 35% HP and i think a flinch resistant. this was when moscow was the only campaign to play so the starting BAs couldn’t 1 hit down them while the premium squads had SMGs that could quickly 2 hit down them

Some people are not understanding what p2w is. Pay to win is when you get benefits which free players can not get.
In this case (premium squads) are not giving any benefits which free players cant get. They are simple rank 5 soldiers with a simple rank 5 gun. You can easily get rank 5 soldiers by just playing the game, you do not even have to complete any challenges for it, through the academy or with a little bit of luck for totally free if you simply recruit new soldiers through logistics. Also you can get max rank guns for completely free by using spare parts or again, a lucky pull in the logistics.
I dont see any reason for the squad being 4 soldiers only, because other assault squads can get better weapons and many different ones, also they are able to select 3 special soldiers like engeneer radio or snipers.

the machine gun squads can be nerfed to only 3 machinegunners and then they could also get the same upgrade tree as free machinegunners OR they could keep 4 machinegunners but only get to choose 2 more specialists.
There is no pay to win since youre only saving some time which you would take to rank free soldiers and guns up. You can get anything in the premium squads for free, soldiers and even better guns, just like in war thunder (another free gaijin game which is also great).
i heard the mp41 is an direct upgrade to the mp40. then simply reduce the damage a little bit or make the reload time slower. easy.
Premium squads in CBT were pure P2W cancer, plain and simple.
Combination of the great guns upgraded on max, great perks and 7 men squad of the SAME CLASS (aka 7 assaulters/7LMGs) caused a lot of harm to the game. Nerfs premium squads received were mostly justified (except nerfing them to 4 men, which was most likely the result of squads getting smaller in overall).
Yes, they could use more slots, but not of the same class, and they should reflect their F2P counterpart in terms of squad composition at best. (So no more 7 LMGs/SMGs)
And there we go, person notoriously known for advocating and suggesting worst monetization ideas ever seen by men is (unsurprisingly) at it again.
Those “shitters” (in comparison to the whales who were the only ones willing to defend those squads) wanted those squads perform on the scale that f2p squads can instead of having the ability to eat bolt action bullets without a flinch and proceed to delete entire squad with surgeon´s accuracy right after (me being among them despite having those squads as well). The main idea behind selling point of premium squads should have been 1. unique uniforms 2. unique weapons 3. exp boost.
You can throw all the feaces you can produce at people who wanted premium squads nerfed, but as far as I remember, people had issues with squad composition when it comes to its size.
But hey, you can keep playing your blame game as much as you want, we are all used on that here now.

This was the main problem imho. A 7 LMG-squad is not fun at all and not authentic.
Why is the size of the premium squads not like the normal squad just with 3-4 special troops depending on their class?

As I felt that no one wants 7 LMGs/SMGs in this moment.
I posted several time that I want just more 2 slot for engineer or radio man.
If devs doesn’t want to add more slots then.

In Berlin i have the Premium PPSH. In its current state there is nothing even close as good as this SMG in the whole Berlin campaign. So until they put at least an equilevant gun as a tech tree one this squad is and will be P2W. Quite simple

It will add PPSH drum type for sure. also German will get STG44.

This is totally wrong. First of all Enlisted way f upgrading guns and soldiers is totally based on RNG orders unless you pay for the BP and get silver orders. So no in WT there isnt any RNG in regards to upgrades or crew. Second “You can easily get rank 5 soldiers by just playing the game” this is also wrong. To achieve that you need to play a ton and oonly focus to one campaign. Same for full star guns. If one is just F2P player he/she just cannot even achieve that since bronze orders are based on EXP gained ( I am not a F2P player btw)
Imo making premium weapons available for normal squads would be a fine change. Ofc as long as those guns arent better than the techtree ones

This game is not like that.
I bought several premium squads but never use it.
Actually I can tell this premium squads are not P2W definitely.
That’s why I suggest some like adding more slots or premium weapons available for normal squads.

In this current state yes they arent P2W, before the nerfs they were. Btw i just agreed with you on the premium weapons idea. What i meant is that having for example StG44s as premiums while those guns arent in the campaign isnt ok. As long us the premium full star guns are available as well in the campaign for free it is fine
