I have not been able to land single round of Tunisia as the US and japan as the US since the new update. I have spent days reorganizing all troops and vehicles and have recreated my original squads to help load into those maps but I can seem to get into one round of either. When I have my full US marines squads with my F2A buffalo and M5A1…I load up into Normandy maps and my marines with the few sub machine guns I have and few M1 Garand cant keep up with the Auto Rifles from the German Paratroopers…also my tank and plane get smoked all the time… May we have the option to select specific theatres again? or someway to incorporate that back into how we build our squads…at this point I have only been playing less and less rounds since I end up getting stomped on these French/German maps as marines.
If you have tier 2 marines you can’t be faced with german paras …
maybe you set your BR lower?
Sooo, I have to relegate my squads to low tech BR equipment to match up Jap maps for the US? Wasn’t the whole point of this change to make it realistic experience? in terms of what units, tanks and weapons were present in those specific theatres and deployment of the specific squads? If remember correctly…the US had garands and thompson submachine guns in that theatre. So why punish me for BR against the Japanese. They have tons of sub machine guns and superior aircraft and AT options? They can BR higher against lower BR us
u can’t use BR 5 in the pacific (not yet)
but everything till BR 4
and in RL Japs had nothing more than bolt actions ^^
only few SMG or LMG
and ingame Japs don’t have superior aircraft
and 4 sure they don’t have better tanks (or at) …

i tried to make it as you would like, ie, just a all Tunisia USA squad, or all just Pacific load out, at BR II, hoping i would get just Tunisia, or just Pacific maps
I do get Tunisia maps, but more Pacific maps more often.
my understanding now is that you have BR II USA, you do fight at Pacific and Tunisia maps,
but once you top BR III USA, can be just 1 gun that can trip you up to a higher BR III from BR II, you can end up fighting in Normandy, as maps are BR based something like that.
so for me to play Normandy, i have to BR III-V, to get Normandy maps, and then if i want to play Tunisia or Pacific i have to be BR II USA
this merge also has made playing Germans a pain to, as i can end up facing RU, Maps, which i have never played, so i don’t know maps at all
Also i used to play Join any Team, now i cant, do that also, due it will give me RU and i have never even lvled a squad or played RU maps,
In terms of real life…you are correct. The Japanese equipment for the Majority of the war was very basic their LMGs weren’t that great compared to US LMGs and very few SMG…but this game has a ton of SMG Squads…Several LMG units and Premium units on top of that…I am trying to upgrade my squads again but end up getting uptier’d in Normandy maps…I have played several rounds already and cannot land a single round of Japanese maps as the US, In game premium aircraft for the Japanese is early BR and my stupid F2A cant hold a candle to them. I am soooo tired of constantly having to maintain and reperk all my squads to try and get a different experience. …I dont know what squads and what weapons to use to get the theatres I want…I dont want to play Berlin maps at all. I enjoy some Moscow and some Normandy…I want to play Tunisia and Japan only…I paid for early access for those theatres because I want to play them. I dont want to be given random maps based on my BR…this isnt war thunder. I want to able to set what maps I want in my own set of maps and then the game can set what squads I need and what BRs I can set to keep the rotation going. I spent and hour today trying to redo my Russian squads to play some Moscow and it was just to freaking tedious to reperk everything and unequip everything and sort out which of my 5 AT team I want to use and which of my 3 machine gun teams I want to run. This is pure insanity to spend so much time setting up…I just want to play my rotations and theatres I want to play. Stop forcing me to play maps I dont enjoy in theatres that dont catch my interest.
nope, the point was to condense and balance the queues into a more manageable number, to compensate for the lack of player base, avoiding bot farms and total imbalance in populations, and letting them deploy new maps and theatres without adding more and more queues each time.
not that it worked, sadly, but that was the main reason given for it.
