Hi all. I’m wondering if I spend all my points in the workshop upgrades then get the choice to change them. If for example I upgrade out a selection of tanks, can I use a token of some kind to reallocate points on another tank? I feel like I’ve spent a bunch of points early on the tier 1 tanks and won’t have enough points to spread out to my liking. Thanks in advance for the feedback.
Sadly not. All points are tied to the specific squad you’re in, and once you’ve selected an upgrade, it can’t be changed.

Thanks. That is sad. For a game that is pretty fun, th devs make some unfriendly design choices. This feels very punishing. On a side note, should I really worry about workshop upgrades? Do they make enough of a difference?

It really depends on you. If you feel comfortable enough using non-upgraded weapons and vehicles, there is no real need to upgrade them. Especially when using bolts and shotguns, since you can just get bolt speed perk or reload perk and you’re basically at the upgraded stage for 0 silver.
As a F2P player, I don’t really upgrade vehicles because they cost too much silver, even with the 40% discount. Weapons however I tend to do, but usually only to the second stage, since once again, it costs too much to go any further. Say I pay 300 silver for an MP40. Just by upgrading to the 2nd stage, I’m basically paying for two MP40s, but in the end I still have just one.
I will say having upgraded weapons, even just on the 2nd stage, is much nicer than using non-upgraded weapons. But you can still get by without upgrading. It all just comes down to silver and patience - are you willing to grind for the upgrades and budget 700 silver for just one BR II weapon?

I got a think about it. If I leave out the discount nodes. I can upgrade 8 tanks to 3 stars but I have 16 more to research so I got to choose wisely. God these choices feel frustrating.

I do quite a bit of tanking, so I may be able to help you with some of your choices. It doesn’t mean I’ll always have the right answer, especially since some of your preferences may be different than mine; furthermore, I haven’t used every tank in the game—so there may be some knowledge gaps that you may have to fill yourself.
So give me a list of the choices you’re having difficulty with.

Hey thank for the reply. I understand now that you’ll unlock new tanker squads to level up and use higher tier tanks. I didn’t know this before. I thought I was going to take this starter squad to the end but with more this makes sense because I’ll get more points for tanks.

Well let me know how you feel about upgrades. I play Germany and feel like I have a lot to work with. It’s hard there’s a bad choice, but playing with whatever is at the the end of a br bracket sounds like the smart choice. I’m playing in br 3 right now so I’m working up to the last panzer iv before I hit br 4. Do you have any gear or vehicles you’d advice over another? At higher br brackets do you even bother with upgrades? I’m finding so much to be so expensive now so I’m not even bothering with my rifles now. I might upgrade a few tanks.
If you’ve just started to play the game, you won’t have access to some of the tanks that I’m using since they are Battle Pass (BP) tanks that I’ve acquired in the past, or other tanks that are no longer available. Here’s my lineup:
BR I: Pz. III J, Pz. III J Strotch II (BP tank), Pz. III B
BR II: Pz. III N “Stalingrad” (no longer available), Sd. Kfz 234/2, Sd. Kfz 234/2 415 (BP tank)
BR III: Pz. IV G, Pz. IV G “Stalingrad” (no longer available), Pz. IV J
If you plan to play the game on a regular basis, I suggest you purchase a “Premium” account, and purchase the “Battle Pass.” They will both help you to level up a lot faster.
Be aware, you will need a minimum of 10 days left on the Battle Pass to complete the Battle Pass; so, if there are less than 10 days left before the Battle Pass expires (and the new one starts), you should just wait for the next one to start—which happens roughly every 35 days.
The Battle Pass costs 900 gold ($9.00), but it is a onetime purchase if you finish the Battle Pass every time—that is, when you finish a Battle Pass you get your 900 gold back (plus an additional 50 gold for free).
In regard to the “Premium” account, I suggest you wait for the November “Thanksgiving” sale, or the December “Christmas” sale. One of these sales (I don’t remember which one, but I think it’s the Christmas sale) will offer the Premium account for half price (50% off).
You still have time to purchase the current Battle Pass and finish it before it expires; there are currently 17 days left on the Battle Pass. The Battle Pass will provide you with a lot of perks—such as free silver to help you upgrade your tanks, along with vehicle upgrade orders (which will also help with your vehicle upgrades).
And yes, you should upgrade your tanks as much as possible. Try to focus on the ones you plan to use most. Then go from there.
