Campaign progression should be more like Axis Normandy?

By level 11 on the axis side, you will have unlocked pretty much all of the essential squads, as well as having access to very powerful weapons like the gewehr and mp40 and a fairly powerful tank, everything after that is mostly min-maxing, except for when you unlock some uber-powerful weapons near the end

this kind of progression seems pretty generous, but looking at other campaign progressions I can see why other players are getting burned out, in the Moscow campaign you don’t get access to semi-auto rifles till near the end, with instead more bolt actions filling in the gaps, the tank progression isn’t as exciting either with you getting different light tanks and the T-28 at the end as the soviets and various panzer 3 models as the germans. Maybe some unlocks should be rearranged so that its a bit more front loaded so that players are “hooked” into grinding out the latter stages of the campaign by giving them access to more powerful weapons early on.

I see what you mean, I just started playing recently and all the things I’d really like to get on the Normandy campaign would end up being unlocked by level 11 for both, (except for a few notable exceptions like mg 38s etc).

Getting hooked completely depends on what you like.

For me personaly I “LOVE” early war weapons and vehicles, which is why I play moscow. I like that its mostly rifles for most of it.

Im really keen for a lot more rifle action in Tunisia and early pacific too.

That’s mainly because semi auto rifles weren’t very common early in the Soviet Union (who only learnt that even SMGs would be useful because of the catastrophic events of the Winter War).

It’s very much a campaign of choice, Moscow is unique because of the heavy reliance of both factions on bolt action rifles, the Soviet side is much more tedious because they lack good machine guns until level 20.

Late war, aka dday and Berlin, the focus had shifted to getting the rounds down range as quickly as possible. So for those who like to run and gun, this is for them.

Not that tedious I’d say to have a 71 round smg that is almost void of recoil. The perfect squad wipe gun for close quarters.
