According to the latest information from Gaijin, the boxes of the parachute troopers supposed to include weapons depends of the battle rating you landed in.
This is not the case with The M1928A1 Thompson Squad (BR V americans). Although the AT rocket launcher is listed there as BR V, you only get the M1 Bazooka from the boxes - a BR II AT rocket launcher that has hardly any effect on BR V. Why doesn’t the boxes include the M9 Bazooka on BR V - a BR III AT rocket launcher?! The german paratroopers are able to select the BR III AT rocket launcher (Panzerfaust 60) from the boxes.

Unfortunately not a bug, thats just the original box from the Squad that wasnt updated when the para box rework occured.
both Soviet VDV, two allied event paras + jap event para got dual loot boxes (basically all low tier paras got a br5 loot box) however all T5 paras, including the both allied/axis event paras (fg42 GL + Vickers MG squad) have their standard box, as well as the premium ones.
Its a reasonable compromise for now; esp hurt was the complete lack of rework on Italian br4 OG43 squad thats basically useless at that tier unfortunately.

the thing is, that the german BR 5 paratroopers got the BR III rocket launcher (Panzerfaust 60) and to be honest: that one has enough PEN to kill all american / british tanks
The BR II rocket launcher struggles even against the side and the rear of the tiger I and doing multiple times 0 damage. So it would only be fair to give to The M1928A1 Thompson Squad also the BR III rocket launcher (M9 Bazooka).

I agree that its reasonable that M9 which is a BR3 weapon should be in the basic box, hell even captured Pzf60 would be cool to see.
Since BR3/5 boxes are the standard a BR2 weapon is deff not something someone should be paying for.
