What’s the problem here you ask?
It’s the amount of score given to a player who exclusively kills planes, it’s definitely high but it takes less skill to do.
Why is it a problem?
Players sit on AA guns and don’t focus on killing infantry, sure they help on getting the skies clear but I think infantry killing is a bigger priority when the maps have good cover. Players will also tend to lurk in their fighters for the whole game, even if the skies are clear, and won’t help there team defend an objective against infantry.
How to bandage this problem?
I do not want to nerf the score you get from killing planes, but rather I want to buff Infantry kills score, It just doesn’t sit right with me that third guy who had 80 more kills than the our plane killer got outscored by 800 points. By buffing the infantry score, nobody loses out.
Does this solve the problem of players spending too much time on their AA guns or fighters?
No, but it would definitely help me get better scores even if I only play as infantry and play objective
currently this is a great way to encourage players to use AA, one person per AA gives the rest of the squad a good opportunity to attack, I think if this guy didn’t crash so many planes the rest of the team wouldn’t have so many kills. Planes can mow people on cap badly.
I just hope they aren’t as versatile when nation specific AA finally comes in. Right now they are just all around effective, durable, fairly difficult to destroy, and easy to use. Hopefully the different AA are somewhat varied.
One or two players taking care of planes are needed. Planes are just stronger than tanks in most situations, so they are worth more. If tanks actually pushed up to help the team (assuming explosive packs were nerfed or removed, fingers crossed) they would be worth more too.
Infantry scores are fine as is. There is more to the game than just endlessly rushing forward with infantry. Support has its role, and are given points accordingly.
Believe it or not, this is not true. By buffing the infantry score, you have more people running in with infantry (this isn’t COD), while that might sound good at first, consider how many people already die to flamethrowers, gas, grenades, or even how often you have AI run in front of where you are trying to shoot because so many people are clustered together!
