hahahahahahahaaha. lol
well… im pretty sure the crew limit is to balance these rather powerful variants… however i wouldnt be opposed to it.
The Universal Carrier can only fit four people. There isn’t enough room in there to fit another person, neither in game nor in real life.
I think it would be good, I’m pretty sure you could jam an extra guy in the back, probably radio/artillery guy.
If you were in the actual WW2 and you needed to move 5 people across the terrain and all you have is a universal carrier you find a way to fit the 5 troops in the vehicle–even if they have to sit on each other’s laps–you don’t just leave one guy to die on the battlefield because “the vehicle manual says its not historically accurate” to fit the last guy in.
Also squads of any size including a full rifle squad with 9 guys can spawn on the universal carrier. In real life troops and squads could not just spawn into existence out of thin air on top of a vehicle as well, for the historical accuracy obsessed people.
Universal Carriers are already good. They excel in concealment and maneuverability. I use them over the LVT-4 and Ho-Ha. The only thing that might need the buff is the Sd.Kfz.251/9, which is much worse than the premium one.
Yet that is an exception and should therefore not be made the rule. Should catastrophic weapon malfunctions be implemented just because they can happen?
There are some areas where gameplay takes precedent but I see no reason to throw out facts, like how many people are in a Universal Carrier group, for something like this. Should 20 and 30 round mags just magically fit more rounds just to balance weapons? Should the same round from practically the same weapon, i. e. .45 ACP from the various Thompsons, do different damage just because it’s a game?
I never use any of these Universal carriers for the very reason that they only have a four man crew. If in real life they only had four, then they should probably only have four, although I wouldn’t be upset if they were changed to five.
Premium infantry/medic squads on the other hand should “NEVER” come with less then five troops, and Gaijin needs to upgrade some of their squads by adding another soldier.
