Buff the premium Engineers

In the current game, those legacy premium engineer squads, as well as the recently introduced machine gunner engineer squads, still maintain a squad size of only 4 members. In the present environment, however, silver engineer squads can already be expanded to 6 members, even allowing for the addition of an assault specialist and a demolitions expert. By comparison, premium engineer squads are at a significant disadvantage in both manpower and functional versatility.

Therefore, I suggest implementing one of the following two adjustments for premium engineer squads:

· Directly add 2 engineer crew members.
· Or add 2 customizable slots, allowing players to assign assault, demolition, or machine gunner roles.

This type of enhancement already has a precedent, such as with premium APCs. The weapons currently used by these squads are relatively balanced overall, and increasing the squad size would not disrupt the game’s general balance. On the contrary, it would improve the practical value of premium engineer squads. This category has been neglected for many years, resulting in their in-combat effectiveness being inferior even to standard squads. Even considering that premium units typically have a higher income multiplier, their lack of combat capability significantly hampers actual match efficiency and player experience.

It is hoped that the development team will re-evaluate the role of premium engineer squads and implement the relevant optimizations as soon as possible.

At first, I found engineer squads equipped with non-faction weapons quite novel. But when every nation started doing the same “weapon swap,” it became a repetitive, formulaic routine. It reminds me of a joke:

Once, DF gathered four standard silver engineer squads and announced, “I’m turning you into premium squads.”
The soldiers were puzzled: “But all our weapons are from our own silver tech tree. How can we become premium?”
DF didn’t answer. Instead, it made them stand in a circle and pass their weapons clockwise to the next person.
Just like that, four “brand new” distinct premium squads were born.

I thought that was the lowest creativity could sink — until I saw the G41 engineer squad in the starter pack. At that moment, I was truly lost for words.

They should had jsut left them with the “bug” of being able to swap their tech tree weapons for any weapon.

I think this is the best solution to give them a wider range of soldiers and hence capabilities - ie towards being in a par with pretty much every other squad type

people been telling this to gaijin already 2 years ago but no effect resulted.
every event/premium squad with 2 fewer soldiers than the TT version needs to get an (additional) engineer slot added to it.
simple to code (already done for some squads, but by far not all) & perfect for social game play (what this playerbase perpetually lacks).

gaijin calculation here is obv that if old squads get powercrept out, players will buy more new squads so the motivation to improve the old ones is extremely low. but gaijin needs to care more about reinstalling playerbase trust than trying to count microdoses of sales.

Engineers should be buff so they can carry weapons the squad they’re associated with.

Meaning engineer in assaulter squad - engineer has access to assaulter weapons.

Same thing with engineer in machine gunner squad etc, etc…

Oh and I wouldn’t mine if the buff apply to the AT soldiers you can add in the squads as well.

Some do funny enough, I think the US Marine prem 20rnd tommy squad has an engineer with a SMG for example.

All premium squads from the past and into the future should come with at least six squad members, four feels like we were cheated, especially since were cheated by not being able to add the weapon of our choice.
