Revolvers were a large part of the war, and they deserve a place within the game as well. People dismiss revolvers as “outdated”, forgetting that the 1940s automatic pistols were not as refined as todays, with pleanty of reliability problems with both the gun itself and the magazines. A gun that goes bang reliably, whenever you need it, was worth its weight in gold. And if you needed more than six shots to get out of a situation then quite frankly you were already screwed and probably deserved your fate for getting into that situation in the first place.
Of course, reliability is not a concern in this game, so revolvers need another benefit to make them at least competative. Higher damage is the best and simplest solution, just a change of a single line of code for each revolver concerned.
New Service is already very good. But no one uses it because there’s the excellent 1911. I think that then the New Service will become the best pistol in TT and will be two heads above all pistols in general.
Special cases can always be made, Colt New Service might just need a speedloader and not a damage increase. I don’t know how common they were on US revolvers, and I’m against giving a speedloader to the Webley on the principle that they weren’t used in service during WW2, but I’ve been told it was semi-normal for US revolvers at the time…?
By the way, for some reason I thought there was a speedloader. But I just checked and it’s not. Was it really there, or am I just having a false memory?
Welrod was beast in old MoH games. The only weapon that could OHK soldier anywhere. Not even sniper Springfield could do that. You needed two torso hits to kill soldier with it.
It would be lovely to actually see it usable in Enlisted. Brings so much nostalgia.
I thought the Springfield killed with one hit. But the Lee-Enfield only killed with two. But the G43 sniper rifle was the only semi-automatic rifle that killed with one hit.
P.S.
We’re talking about MoHAA, right? And the single-player mode? (Was there even a multiplayer mode?)
