Has anyone unlocked this weapon for the Americans and can any trooper use it or is it only for the MG class?

it’s held by the MG class
keep in mind that in the current version,
LMG, MMG are only for gunners,
semi automatic weapons & Bolt actions are only for troopers, Bombers ( aka AT infantry ) & FlameTroopers.
SMGs & Shootungs are only for assaulters, pilots ( fighter and bombers ) & Tank Crew Man.
any other weapons that has scopes, it goes for the sniper.
but it’s just like a regular trooper with the ability to get scoped weapons.

Ok this tells me what I was looking for. If MG class is required for using the BAR then they need to change the blue upgrade card for US infantry squads. Currently it does not include the MG class and historically most all US infantry squads had a least one BAR .
Currently the blue card allows you to add a 1 x sniper, 1 x bomber, 2 x engineer and 2 radios but no MG class. MG needs to be there for historical TOE and should be a fairly insignificant change …
i mean, you have other squads that can obtain an MG gunner through upgrades.
such as the trooper, assaulter, anti tank, mgs squad it self, and lastly, the mortar squad. ( not too sure about the mortar squad ) but you know, those are actually a good ammount of squads that can have machine gunner 
EDIT: the mortar squad does not get acess to MGs.
