We already get Bronze for sending troops away,so getting bronze for soldiers(knives) who we sent home before this update would also be nice

Good use for it, but might have to be something like 1 bronze weapon order for every 5 knives.
Bronze weapon orders go further than bronze troop orders do.
Id rather trade the knives in for bayonets or other melee items but this works too.

Either that or trade in 100 knives for a sword.
