Bring the Ross Mk III rifle in line with other straight pull bolt actions

In enlisted all “bolt action” guns with a straight pull back mechanism are given a higher fire rate as the removal of 2 steps allows for a much faster cycling of the bolt. All except one that is. For some reason the Ross does not have this fire rate increase.

For context the rifle stats are below.

Name damage magazine reload rate of fire V recoil H recoil
Ross Mk III rifle 25.4 5 3.8 69 77 52
Mannlicher M1895 25.3 5 3.4 76 120 40
Winchester M1895 27.9 5 3.2 76 101 34

What I am suggesting is that the Ross’s fire rate simply be increased to the level of the other guns of its type in other factions at 76. Although this would still not put it on par with the Lee Enfields it would accomplish several things. Not only would it make things more consistent and balanced, but it would also provide the Ross with at least one thing that it has over the Lee Enfield, and give the small but dedicated group of players who like Ross something.

(extra: After looking at it the Winchester M1895 is kind of BS isn’t it. I’m not going to say its Russian bias but it does look rather suspicious.)

You know sights arnt everything right? The Lee Enfields are only a little worse anyways.

I used to solely equip all my riflemen with the Ross, but have since gravitated over to the Springfield 1903 USMC version. For some reason, I am more accurate with that rifle, but I am not great with boties in general, so saying I am more accurate with that weapon is not actually saying much. :joy:

Ross rifle already has an advantage over others which is the best sight picture out of all of them if you ask me.

Not everything, but it matters a lot. Actually, i’d say that it matters a whole lot more on the bolt-action rifles. Also i wouldn’t say it’s “only little a worse”.

I can’t hate the sight picture of lee-enfield enough because not only it’s obstructing but the rear sight is also misaligned that i don’t know about you, but it always confused me when i’m using this rifle.
