I don’t know why it was removed but the zoom in the commander’s view was very useful and fun. They must bring it back. I’m very disappointed

It is a bit inconvinient without zoom but I don’t mind tbh.
I’d rather have better tank comander pose when I pick out of the hatch so I don’t stick like a target on a shooting range. So I can use my binos with lower risk.
(And a well working coupola.)

I mean zoom inside the tank, and other tanks has commander too
On one hand, when the new tank viewing update was released I too didn’t like it and preferred the original. However after using it all this time I’ve actually grown to like it
It also does help to flesh out the roles of the tank. Now we can use the tank commander for his great perspective, and if we want to make very precise shots we need the Gunner

Ha-Go didn’t have a commander, it is just a gunner that can open the hatch. He should be able to command the hull MG if he is a commander.
In addition he is using the gunner sight not a commander sight.
Doesn’t affect my T-34 since gunner is also commander despite the game treats the loader as commander but for tanks like T-34-85, atleast I prefer to use gunner position when firing at targets.

While I have found it convenient that commander could also zoom in the past, in axis vehicles, I think it is better now.
Commander should have better view overall, but not suited for sniping and pixel hunting.
Meanwhile Gunner has a very limited view, but best for sniping.
It actually affects the t34 a lot since the commander’s vision is much more pleasant

Also, consider the upcoming feauture around periscopes announced on one of the lattest devblogs for why the zoom was removed.

Remember that the Pz.W.42 needs a better aiming mechanism.
now with removed zoom in commander view he difficulty to aim has increased a lot in this vehicle. In addition, someone made the decision to limit even more the angle in the commander’s view of the pzw42.
Don’t forget to tell the devs about that. I paid for the pz42w

Also Pzw never has zoom. On commander /driver hatch if I remmeber correctly… Tbh i play it always on the gunner sight so I could be wrong

Wrong, you can zoom in as gunner. I just tried it and works in Normandy tanks.
When you say zoom you mean the hold right click/trigger for extra zoom or just switching the gunner seat and look throughthe scope?
