Just because they at least work, Honestly the current system for obtaining soldiers doesn’t work at all, and you haven’t made any change that works well enough to fix it.
So please bring back the academy at least during the time you finish designing a better system, that works as well or better than the academy.
Come on man, you can afford internet and some type of gaming system. Battle pass is 900 gold and if you don’t spend gold on anything else, that 900 is returned to you with BP rewards and can be uded to purchase all future Battle passes.
That’s about the same price as a cheap lunch for 2 at a fast food joint.
The other option is to grind away for many many hours.
BP grants you on average 1 soldier every two days, it is ok when you need to hire specialists but when you start fresh campaign and need roughly 10+ troopers to fill the squads then even BP is not really enough.
There are at least two quick options. Let us empty squads that are not in use or allow rifleman I to be purchasable by bronze orders.
I don’t spend money on games that use cash grab mechanics by rule. Because this tactics mean that the game devs are short sighted and the game is unlikely to survive for long enough to be worth it.
Unless enlisted show that they aren’t going to limit everything to the point playing without paying micro transactions is possible and not extremely annoying/ not worth it, I won’t spend money on it. and after the way they removed the academy, I ain’t sure this game won’t devolve in to a cash grab, that won’t be worth anything at all.
So, you don’t spend money on any game? Because literally all of them are cash grabs. That’s the point. Either go through the F2P grind, or pay to progress faster.
It’s been a thing since 2005 because it works.
Most people I know wanted the academy gone because it was an idiotic system that was more aggravating than anything else. Nobody wants to spend 3 hours in the UI rolling for soldiers, 1-2 matches to level them up and then throwing them in the academy and spending hours getting another batch of soldiers.
Not all games are cash grabs. Most F2P surely are and also AAA games with ton of DLCs / season passes and micro transactions, etc. Then you have indie games that usually do it with passion and try to make game people would enjoy without spending ton of money every now and then.
Dota 2 ain’t a cash grab title, and I buy their battle pass every year for example.
Cash grabs tittle s are the sort of software that attempt to extract the maximum amount of money out of people and only deliver the bear minimum of content. And I say software because those thing ain’t fun enough to even be called games.
You can also cannibalize newly unlocked squads that you unlock during the campaign.
It will only cost one rifleman to replace the assaulter, Gunner, Sniper or whoever you want to
remove from the new squad and move to a battle ready squad.
As an example, the default Rifleman squad comes with a free slot, use your imagination.
But if you are a player that expects to run 6 infantry squads with 9 members in each, it isn’t possible any longer for F2P
I would like to run with 3 full squads and that is really a problem for new player. Do the math. Sure I shuffle the troops from inactive squads but problem is you cannot empty them. You can only trade trooper for another one but that won’t help you now because you still need SO to fill the squad.
Can you unlock tanks in war thunder by playing?
Yes. The more you play the more you get.
Can you get new soldiers in enlisted by playing?
Maybe one or two per week if there is an event, but if there isn’t an event then no.
You see the difference?
The grind in war thunder is long, but there aren’t any magical pay me now walls.
And in enlisted as it currently is, there are a few, wait x amount of days or pay me to keep going forward in the game. Just like a Facebook cash grab app.
On a yearly basis, even at full price, BP and Premium combined cost an average of $3.23 usd per month. About the same as a Starbucks fancy coffee or a crappy fast food hamburger.
Seems like pretty cheap entertainment since I would guess that most players would spend at least 10 hours a month playing this game.
If a person is so broke that they can’t afford that amount……well it’s their life, but personally I wouldn’t be wasting time playing video games, I’d be out hustling.
