BRs don’t separate players among skills - rather they make sure that at BR1 people use early war gear that fits to their settings.
So to speak each BR has a rather unique gameplay to them →
less automatic weapons in Moscow, Assault rifles in Berlin
now that doesnt mean that a good player can’t bring a Kar98 to defend the Reichstag - still why should he if he has access to undoubtedly better weapons? At low BR its the best you can bring, so you are so to speak “supposed” to bring the gear fitting to your BR.
BRs are not worthless, however because of BR3 being ±2, there aren’t any BRs to begin with.
We only have BR 3 matches and BR 5 matches.

If BRs would work properly, then you wouldn’t see Tiger II in Stalingrad.
With some exceptions like poor performing Volkssturm weapons, BRs are much closer to historical accuracy than the campaign system.
Also Staingrad being a BR3 map is kinda stupid - it would make you fight Panthers. Stalingrad specifically should be a BR2 map, so that it can see BR1 - BR3 gear.

I don’t understand who even came up with this BR split mechanism.
It doesn’t make any sense. At all.
BR I can’t compete with BR III, just as BR III can’t compare with BR V.
BR I - BR I and BR II.
BR II - BR I, BR II and BR III
BR III - BR II, BR III and BR IV
BR IV - BR III, BR IV and BR V
In other words, +1, -1 or the same BR tier.
Upscaling and downscaling with 2 tiers is too big of a gap to be competitive and it ends up boring for boths sides.
