I still like how everyone seems to think quad 20mm SPAAGs would be worthy of a high BR, especially given that they all largely reload from a magazine.
They will not produce as many casualties as a short barrel 75mm spamming high explosive every 2.4 seconds, you do not require more than 1 hit with a 20mm to kill someone (Except apparently AA guns vs paratroopers), and 20mm HE has very limited splash.
You don’t really need to look past the existing 20mm tanks to see what kind of casualties they can inflict, and because the turret is barely armored, every infantry-held AT weapon can easily penetrate the turret.

the ability to shoot at planes is nice to have, but not worth a whole BR jump. Every BR2 and most BR1 tanks can oneshot these SPAAs easily with AP & HE.
The best option is to put them into BR2 with some TT versions and some event/premium with the latter being buffed by speed/armor/fire rate/reload metrics.

guerrilas are easily counterable by having good awareness, while nothing can stop a kamikaze plane which is an issue that is entirely different from your concern since nothing can stop that, also all SPAAS (or as you call it “machine gun tanks”) we currently have are thinly armored.

same can be said with a decent SPAA player, you also have to get your mind out of thinking of all SPAAs are sluggish thinly armored vehicles because this, ostwind/wirble and skink are absolutely not thinly armored and can be quite responsive especially the t-34 hull. tanks aren’t inherently only good for the grayzone the sluggish ones like king tigers and super pershings are but if you keep mobile you can survive for a while in the infantry zone .
