it is still good i’d argue, but sometimes unreliable.
Well. Tbf its better to use that against T-34s and Shermans than the PZB-38.
I mean M1 Bazooka can take out german big cats you know where to aim
I GREATLY beg to differ.
The AT rifles in Tunisia are very effective, and in moscow are pretty decent.
That’s assuming the person using them is smart enough to get a good angle, and not just get mad when they try to shoot through thick armor.
Yep. Same logic here as well. The frag grenade can do enormous amounts of damage to infantry. Like you can get 15-20 multi kills quite easily if you are lucky.
Had one a couple weeks ago where I landed 36 kills with a frag at the start of the game.
Airburst is VERY effective.
the first at rifles you get can only penetrate certain targets and are more effective at disabling tanks. good examples of targets that cant be killed with at rifles are grant, sherman 2, t34, t34 1941
Nice to hear that.
It may be difficult to kill those tanks with them, however they can still take out the tracks and sometimes the barrels and other significant parts.
Just because it doesn’t detonate an ammo rack, doesn’t mean it isn’t effective against them.
ah yes, just snipe the tracks of the greyzoning jumbo, and then you kill the… then he wont give a shit and continue to blast your team, or you
The Jumbo is on Normandy. There are no AT rifles in that campaign.
While the Sturmpistle won’t do much against a Jumbo in the greyzone, an AT squad or engineer squad both have access to the AT field guns. Those WILL take down Jumbos, especially if you place the field gun at a higher location and have a clean shot.
Panzerfausts however make VERY short work of greyzone tanks, they just take some practice to land the shots.
ah yes, the 40mm cannon will go clean trough the jumbo frontal armor, that shit cant even take out infantry efectively, much less the jumbo
See your trouble is that you only seem to be focused on the frontal armor. That’s why so many people favor the Jumbo. However, there ARE weakspots in the front that you can use to your advantage.
Otherwise focus on the sides, or just below the turret. Depending on your angle, there are numerous weakpoints. When using a fieldgun, you can set up in areas that tanks cannot.
Also, its not a 40mm. If I’m not mistaken its a 57mm or something. I’d have to look.
I GREATLY disagree on this one! I’ve had games where I have over 100 kills with the field guns with ease! I’m not really sure where you are going wrong, but they ARE effective against infantry. Especially on Normandy and Berlin.
57 is the one that allies use, Axis uses a 40mm or 45mm, so you are wrong, and why the hell would a grey zone jumbo be sideways? they always face the objective, you cant hit them from the sides if they are on the grey zone, and the 40mm cannon that germans use is very weak, I mean, of course, you may be able to pen the mg port, but even if you do, the explosive filler is varely existant, so It wont do much
The tank itself may be pointing at objective, but that doesn’t mean you can’t go out wide to the sides or on a hill to set up a field gun.
Just had a game earlier tonight where I was on offense and ended up with just over 150 kills with the field gun, 3 tank kills.
It definitely works just fine. You just need to learn your angles of attack with it.
you literally did play as allies and you are trying to argue with me my guy, thats not how it works
I have BOTH sides in Normandy maxed out, and play BOTH of them depending on what mood I’m in.
It’s not that I have preference necessarily to one side or the other. I’ve been on BOTH ends of it. As the Jumbo player and killing the Jumbos.
Personally, I don’t like using the Jumbo as they are extremely sluggish and still pretty easy to kill. I much prefer using the Hellcat as Allies, and either going for wide flanks or using it to break through enemy lines and create a distraction while the infantry pours through the entry point I just made!
Additionally, it has SMOKE SHELLS! Used correctly I can help an entire wave of infantry move up into position.
Unfortunately the Axis don’t really have anything that compares to the Hellcat, though they do have the Tiger(s) that have 88mm cannons.
Anyways, back to the main subject, the Jumbo CAN be a formidable opponent, but only if you aren’t willing to try to flank it. The side armor is easily pierced. Additionally, depending on the objective, and your knowledge of the map, you can use their sluggish movement to your advantage.
How? By placing AT mines.
Due to their difficulty over rough terrain, Jumbos usually stick to the same routes every game. So if you are on defense and you mine the roads and common access points in advance, you will rarely have to deal with Jumbos.
This method is actually MORE effective than the annoying trenches that people dig to bog down tanks.
flanking is for people who dont know about MG port.
Yep, they somewhow manage to create new problems with every update. They tell you with the comics to throw detpacks to a certain point on the tank, and when you do it, it bounces off to F*ckland. Don’t even know how to adapt anymore to all this fuckups. Advise? Count to 5 seconds (as said before) and pray the tank doesn’t move at all (and that the detpack actually works, 'cause now it’s shameful, it barely damages tracks or the tank parts) to be able to damage it or destroy it…
