If i have an anti-tank soldier in my squad and i spot a tank, why doesn’t he switch his weapon to attack it? same with mortars. if i spot a place in the distance like im scouting, why don’t they switch and bomb the marker? and when are engineers going to be equipped properly? should be using smgs because they are small making “carrying supplies” more realistic. how do expect an engineer to have enough ammo to run an stg 44 and have to carry building supplies?
this will definitely come at some point, we just have to wait as it’s just incredibly hard to code no doubt.
i don’t know if it would be that hard to code truly. once all that gets coded to one then it’s all copy and paste for the other 3 teams. i understand that it could take time but why wasn’t this thought about in the first place…? you control a squad and can’t give them any true orders like suppress here and they don’t perform their individual disciplines?
are you really controlling it at that point?
Bots used to be too deadly now they have the intelligence of a small child at best.
Enlisted bots just put too much of brain resources into their legs. Once they enter a car of any kind the 100% of focus goes to the aim ability and they can shoot enemies properly instead of just staring.
i don’t know about your kids but mine are a little brighter than that
i also thought it would be cool if they gave the bots a “focus ability”. once you can no longer build rallies for be to close to the point bots should have their difficulty go up the closer to the objective they are
I’m pretty much sure it’s not that easy.
maybe it was? it’s not done yet? bots can throw epacks onto tanks, we might get all this you ask for soon.
we might not know much about development of this game but one thing is sure, devs wants bots to perform larger and larger amount of tasks and I’m good with that. AI development is simply more complicated you might think.
this is another issue, sometimes they obey realism and sometimes they don’t, sometimes they obey logic and sometimes they just go straight dumb. I wish it was more consistent too.
I really don’t…
the pathfinding must be pretty exhausting
I’d say they focus way to much, it’s so strange seeing them doing literally a drive-by. totally immersion breaking I play WW2 shooter not a GTA.
i mean idk anything about coding but maybe making ai like in those old cod game might make them more deadly?
When i say cod 1 still has the best ai in franchise, people dont blieve me ![]()
yea they are super accurate when i play it
Be nice wouldn’t it, aim/target something, bots act, hahaha i really do wish.
But i been away, before i left, you could?(not that i would) order a them to attack a tank?
and they proceed to attack with grens/x packs??
Or i just dreaming, on what i think it was?
yea that a thing sometime they are really good at it but other they just miss and alert the tank
best to do when tank are immobile
At least it’s better than just standing there, circle jerking and jumping, waiting for a HE shell to hit you
I think it’s actually not very difficult to perfect robot commands. Many older games like Rainbow Six and Ghost Recon have better commands. The current command system is so bad that robots are almost useless. They are simply the player’s resurrection points and kill numbers. A better command system would undoubtedly make the game more interesting.
Im just waiting for licensed voiceover from Brothers in Arms to come in. “Suppress that Location”. " RUN FROM THE STICK" are still better than the voice over here and that was 20 years ago lol. and you are right. remember how sensitive the voice commands were on SOCOM on the PS2? Voice commands in this game would be unreal
