Makes no sense when you order to your squad to hold position (with the close formation command active) into a building if several of them just stay offside the building, a lot of unffair casualities happens due to this.

The formations don´t affect anything unless your squad is following you. They also programmed the AI to be split up like that. It would be great if you had more control over your squad but that´s gonna have to wait for now.
Yeah, so it’s kindof the tradeoff with large squad sizes. They’re clumsier and you’re more likely to lose bots for stupid reasons.
For that reason I only use large squads defensively when I’m just trying to throw bodies at the enemy team to prevent a cap.
Larger squad size is also really handy if you walk into an ambush you have more time to switch to another squad member before the enemy can kill the whole squad. I´ve wiped countless squads because the enemy only had like 4-5 guys and I downed all of them before he could react.
I find surviving chain-deaths is more due to bot positioning than squad size. Only thing size would affect is one bot getting stuck and letting you survive.
Because chain deaths are less about needing time to react, and more about being able to switch to a bot that isn’t actively dying or in the line of fire by the time you can control them.

Untill noone shoots at them… And u still moving its ok… When u stop… Omah gawd what they do… Always walking stright to enemy fire, always without cover, always going under arty fire. I found that they best work on open air when u cover behind small fence or just lay prone/crouch and mark enemiea on mid-longish rage-then bots lay or crouch and even kill something. When behind fence they finally seem to use it as a cover-not always work that way tho… The ai still needs…hmmmm basic training xD
Actually squad size sometimes prevent chain death due to enemy lacking ammo in mag xD or that one sole bot that stuck on something and was left behind
They move couldn’t stand being inside the building.
probably have claustrophobia.
You can try to use personal orders but good luck with that. In most cases you don’t have time to play with that feature, especially if you also want to build something.
