Deserters are again a big problem. Mostly these are people who play half of BP with the allies in Tunisia, and then have a lot of player rating points.
The main problem of deserters is blocking the slot. For some time after the player leaves the match, the bot does not appear in his place.
This is a very big problem, especially in defense, because in the assault mode, no one defends points.
I have an idea for it. The maximum number of player rating points should be 400.
That’s exactly how Marzałek’s last rank should be very difficult to maintain.
For Desertion, the player should lose at least 10 points. Your internet disconnected. Sorry, but it’s not the game’s fault, it’s your ISP.
For a loss -1 unless the player has reached the best status in some field and +1 for a battle hero.
What do you think about punishing players for deserting?
And is losing a player rating point enough punishment?
Instead of just punishing deserters, they should look at the reasons people desert and find ways to fix them.
For starters: I suggest removing the 50% XP Victory bonus and boosting the overall XP gain to make up for it. That way those people won’t be compelled to quit if they think their team is going to lose.
Maybe after the merge and the steam release there will be enough people to allow players to choose what kind of game mode to play, as that’s one of the big reasons people desert as well.
The only thing I can say for this for the deserting player turn all of his units into bot squads that Spawn in through the match instead of just having regular bots.
Balance on historical maps. You have probably never seen a map of any city or area before your eyes.
The maps are based on real areas. But they are big enough that you can try to attack from different sides.
And in Tunisia, the Allies are played by players who, if they do not see 10 marshals in their team, leave the game. Or if they lose the first squad which is even worse.
The balance when it comes to maps was on the Western Front of World War I. Trenches and craters from explosions everywhere. Full balance.
What i don’t like:
-objectives in middle of nowhere with no cover,
-objectives in 5x5 rooms, get spammed with explosie like above,
-objectives so huge you can’t find enemy,
-distances between spawn and objective can range from 55m to 200m,
-lazy maps that are South etc, variations with no consideration on how it works in game. Leads to maps with no cover for attackers or no spots for defenders to place rally points.
-gray zones that make no sense
I like maps, i don’t like how some of them are integrated into game. It’s issues like train map having spawns so far away and gamemode being to long, which was kinda fixed yet still suck. It’s maps with bots getting stuck on spawn
the trouble is the snowball, let me explain both teams start with equal number of squads,
then someone drops, or the ip fails, or one team is winning, whatever the reason someone is removed from one team
the loosing team begins to loose by more so a second player leaves and so on and son on,
solution i don’t know you can’t poach people from the other team, is the solution to finish the game quickly but lowering the bar for victory
that punishes the loosing team by sealing there fate and denies the winning team who knows
There are many problems with deserters
Bad mode and no choice for players
unbalanced staffing
Don’t want to accept the reality of losing
I support punishing deserters, but I don’t want to be forced by the game to play a mode I don’t want to play
Yea for all these years DF cannot even make a balanced matchmaking system and people start to question why people leave matches that they know they cannot win. I mean, when you see you are in a 1v7 match who will choose to stay in that fucking match? So my suggestion. give extra bonues for those who choose to stay in a very unbalanced matches. And I am not talking about 50%. I mean at least 300% for these matches. And I can already see assholes say “This will break the economy of this game”. Will, I like to see whats their reaction when they are in a 1v7 match with punishment when leaving the game
That would help, and I think they could further minimize the problem if they would just ensure that one side doesn’t get more payers than the other at the start of a match.
They can’t stop people from leaving mid-game, but at the start of a match it would be easy to enforce an equal number of human players on each side: for every person to join the axis team, there must be a person to join the allied team. If there are only 5 allied players in que then only 5 axis players can join them regardless of how many more are in the que, and vice versa.
If one side is more populated than the other they will have to wait longer to join a match, and maybe there can be a popup message letting them know they can join on the other side to play quicker for bonus xp.
