simple idea, at the end of the player’s info should say ‘‘ping ###’’ , or BOT if its a AI
You really think they’ve gone to all the ridiculous lengths to hide bots (mostly from newer players) just because they couldn’t think of one “simple idea”?
i mean at this point anyone could easily distinguish bots from actual players, they would just need to play long enough to figure out the naming schemes of bots and naming schemes of actual players, and id prefer that every player is aware of one another’s ping, so they wont be as mad if they lagg badly for example
Not everyone. New players can’t and I have a strong supicion that’s the entire point. To me it looks like this game is focused almost entirely on making a good first impression even if it has to lie about everything. Hook people early on and then try to make them stay with dirty “fear of missing out” tactics.

thats the thing, why bother hiding bots, just let them be shown, make df at least somewhat honest about how many bots there really are.
I don’t care, I know it’s not real, but it tastes wonderful…
Good first impression? Sounds like you think this game is terrible after firat few hours, yet you are wasting time on its forum. 
If they are going to objective, they are bots
If they are camping or wandering around cluelessly, they are real players
yeah but the name doesnt pop up in front of those bots going to objective, nor does the same happen for players
The game is appealing the first few weeks/months of playing (which is a period when new players begin spending real money, in order to get better gear/premium units/content, to compete with veteran players and boost their xp.
But after a hundred dollars…
Or maybe a few hundred dollars…
The player becomes invested (because they are enjoying the game).
it isn’t until later… when new players get some experience, and then begin noticing the odd behavior of some of their teammates
And this is the moment the unaware, become aware (that there are A.I. disguised as human players)
But it’s too late… because the player is already financialy invested into the game
(so they start visiting the forum)
Terrible or not, it isn’t what it seems at first. Also I’ve been waiting for this game since announcement, I’ve been in alpha, I can’t just leave. I feel partially responisble for how it turned out and still waiting for it to become worth my time. If you’ve never been invested this way, well, good for you.
