I think I had a lone fight Monastery invasion with Germans where there were like 3 or 4 real persons and the rest AI on our side. We could not even capture the first building. One time I got in by the help of a friendly tank blocking snipers, I noticed the building is full of enemy, the steps visible on the ceiling suggested a lot of guys in the attic. Just before I was killed I saw that the top is full of sandbags everywhere, which makes me wonder:
Do defender bots spawn on attic of capture point?
Because then putting that amount of sandbags makes a lot of sense - AI would not be able to leave the protection of the roof with its current not-gonna-jump attitude and would make capturing the position next to impossible. My enemy-ally indicator line was 2-3 pixels blue and not because I’m playing in 320x200; yet my room was empty - so they were really either on top or in the other room which I never lived enough to see.
Fix would be quite simple I think: instead of making the guys unable to pass through sandbags, swap that to grenades unable to pass through sandbags.
(Why I think we were all-AI is that I’m a mediocre player yet I was #4 out of ~twenty guys with my 6 kills.)
Anyone with more idea on whether it is a working defense tactic, will AI defenders really pop up in objective? I can’t believe 6-8 people camping in the same spot, without getting bored and coming out as not seeing anyone for minutes - we, the enemy were really bad.
Idk, lone fighter is completly broken. ON the moscow campaign I played 2 games before and I was the only real player on the german team vs like 7 players, all the rest bots They hsould fix that
Bots don’t spawn on objectives. I’m not even sure if they can spawn on rally points. I’ve never seen them get stuck in the attic outside of squads mode.
I personally think it’s them giving them an excuse to kill the mode and say “We gave you guys what you wanted and it was just not successful.”
I just request another Battle Task when the LF comes up. I’d rather play another game that is designed from the ground up as a LF experience than what’s here.
As I learned here they created the LF mode upon repeated requests from players.
I don’t think it’s a bad mode either, when things are in place, it is fun.
Not when you sit down next to a tank and wait until the next bot pops up on the same scripted path and waits until you end his miserable virtual life, looking at you for like 3 seconds before doing anything. But when you actually fight with real players.
