Bomber squad size increase? Do we get AI bois?

I noticed for the A20 plane on US, I can expand my bomber plane squad - is there any reason to do this?

currently, no.
as rear gunners are not functional.
so right now, they work as a respawn in case your pilots get killed.

in the future, yes.
( if rear gunners are gonna be a thing. )
