G8N1

DESCRIPTION
Nakajima G8N1 Renzan is an experimental Japanese four-engine heavy bomber developed by the Nakajima company in 1944. By mid-1942, both the military and Nakajima engineers began to realize that the first Japanese four-engine bomber, G5N1 Shinzan, turned out to be an unsuccessful aircraft that not only had a large number of teething problems, but also no longer met the requirements of the time. Because of this, in mid-1943, within the framework of a new technical requirement under which the Imperial Japanese Navy wanted to receive a strategic bomber rather than a larger analogue of the G4M, the company’s design team began creating a new four-engine bomber, already taking into account the experience gained from designing the G5N.

The future G8N1 Renzan, in addition to a laminar-profile wing and powerful Nakajima Homare 24 engines, received Hitachi 92 turbochargers, which together made it possible to achieve excellent flight performance at high altitude. At the same time, the engineers did not skimp on defensive armament, consisting of several 20-mm Type 99 Model 2 cannons and 13-mm Type 2 machine guns.

The G8N1 made its first flight on October 23, 1944, and subsequent tests showed great promise for the new aircraft. However, by that time the Navy needed fighters and interceptors more than heavy bombers, and after the start of American air raids on the Japanese islands all plans for the production of the G8N were disrupted. In total, only 4 G8N1 prototypes were built, one of which was tested in the USA after the war.

wouldn’t such a heavy bomber have to be BR 6 or something?

I voted no, it would make Japan have the ONLY two engine heavy bomber in the game. A better option is the Mitsubishi G4M Betty bomber. I believe the Betty already exists in WT.

If G8N1 is added, the other nations will likely get counterparts, as always happens.

That would mean more bombs in br5 which is just not fun.

BR5 is already a hell and not fun, so nothing would change.

It would become even worse if there’s lots more bombs, no need to add fuel to a fire.

Yeah, the US could add the B-17, B-29 or the B-24 Liberator. UK the Lancaster Bomber. The Germans could have the The Heinkel He 177 Greif or the Me 264. Soviets the Petlyakov Pe-8. Lots of planes that could be added if the Dev’s so desired.

Why not? People who play BR5 nowadays have already lost their sanity, so they wouldn’t even notice the difference.

That’s not a real argument. Br5 is bearable, what ruins it is massive bombs, luckily it isn’t always constant, if heavy bombers were added it would become constant and no fun.

I’d love to have more bombers

I think it was a joke, but the poison is seeping through to BR IV nonetheless

Either way, playing BR5 isn’t fun, you go into the match already knowing your squad won’t last two minutes.

Explosions happening around you every second, automatic weapons with a very fast rate of fire Shooting in all directions, that’s not fun. I think it would be cool to see BR5 heavy bombers in the game.

If it’s not fun to play then what’s the point? Br5 can still be saved. The only way I want to see heavy bombers implemented is maybe as a better version of the normal bomber strikes but with the bigger bombers.

this is why i no longer play br5. because of those people

G8N is actually in war thunder.

With 5 people working on enlisted? I doubt it, but okay.

More the better

i did a search of what would be equivalent of B-25 for Japan and yes you are right The Mitsubishi G4M, commonly known as “Betty”, is generally considered the closest Japanese counterpart to the American B-25 Mitchell
