Better Conquest

Dear developers the conquest mode is one of the most hated of enlisted , assault is hated very much (even if it is just a bad copy of RO2 territory in my opinion) it does not reach the hate level of conquest due to being too random, to the abuse and spam of artillery, mortars, CAS,
campers who know the map and make a slaughter, maps far too small and with too many players contributing to a respawn-kill-die-respawn of less than 20 seconds is an extremely stressful mode that could become better indeed the best with a simple move , make it a game mode, like squad and lone soldier with simple special rules

  • infantry only (no vehicles)
  • no artillery support (except mortars)
  • number of players reduced to 5v5 to reduce the number of bots in the mode
  • careful selection of maps for the mode, ex monstery

Just a quick question:
How would that make Conquest less boring?

90% complains about Conquest come from the fact that Invasion (and imo Assault, but lets not talk about it) are simply much better modes. Larger scale, proper objectives and doing something more than running and gunning in fight for the three cap zones.
So my question is how cutting away whole combined arms concept and limiting playercount to 5v5 would make Conquest more interesting? Imo it would become even more boeing than it is now, and because you told that it could be another mode - it would end up worse than LF.

The problem with conquest “to me” is the map design together with the placements of the objectives.

You most of the time have something like two “lanes” where the one side of the battle has two flags, and the other side is a mini king of the hill battle.

IF the map design would be just one “lane” instead, with the goal of pushing the enemy team away and securing “ground”, thus securing the “center point”, - then the conquest mode would feel less chaotic and would boost the gameplay to assault levels.

Agree with the 1lane style on conquest maps & would make the middle point 1-3 bigger than usual to avoid every possible spam to small area OR make it a indoor point.

Comquest mode is just designed to fight.
The goal of game is capturing the zone, so the actual battle field is too limited than whole map size. So the artillery and vehicles are very powerful and the infantry keeps repeating respawn-battle-die- respawn cycle at same place.
In my opinion, the only way to solve this problem is to remain Conquest mode as Quick-tempo arcade mode or redesign the size and location of objectives.

There is no way to make conquest more fun sadly my suggestion is only for reduce the pain for wo play it, you sai this mode is only for gunning and running so make conquest only for “gunning and running” is the only way for save the mode the 5v5 is perfect for skirmisk battle in small map absence of tanks and plane and artillery barrage make this more for casual player,less length match im suggest this only for people have 20 minutes for play and i agree this game is made for invasion mode so lets people want massive battle play only invasion or people dont have time to play a quick match

Okay, that argument about jumping in for one quick round is something to agree with.

I still think that at this moment it would be a waste of devs limited resources because it would satisfy rather small group of players, especially when compared to those who want to play almost only Invasion. But maybe in the future something like “Quick Action” mode will be introduced. But I wouldn’t consider it as a “Conquest fix” - because those who like Conquest like it already as it is, those who don’t like it would hate that mode even more.

Agree with you on “quick action” its needed but for me conquest remind too much a COD so the actual version let me strange every time how for you , you like conquest?
The dev waste resources and time on lone wolf wo actually have a small player base less than conquest so i think my idea is a best waste of time and resources :sunglasses:

Nah, I would choose Invasion 100% times over Conquest.
Invasion>Assault>>>>Conquest
There are some good matches in the last one from time to time, but that is still not enough for me to like that mode.

We’ll see. My opinion is that devs finally realised that previous incarnation of Lone Fighter, adressed to BF and COD players who expected another standard WW2 FPS without bots, doesn’t work and the mode is dead. So now they are trying to lure completely different playerbase into that mode.
Your idea might work in the future, but it would 100% need more thought put into it than LF. Ending in a 5v5 match on for example Monastery Conquest map would be a terrible experience.

I remember RO2’s territory being either something like invasion or a tug of war like territory for some maps e.g. Pavlov’s House, Barracks, Fallen Fighters.

Assault does remind me of RO2 a bit too but invasion is the best mode ever despite its flaws like infinite tickets for defenders where there’s no reason for defenders to retreat when losing too many tickets unlike RO2 or RS2 did.
