it’s something that remains up in the air within my small group on which BR II semi-auto rifle for Japan is the one stacking the most up on so I just wanted to try and gain a general consensus on the better one being either the Type Hei or the Type Otsu [TT ones only]
(side note: did they change the sights on the Type Hei in some update late last year? I don’t remember them being closed)[poll type=regular results=always chartType=bar]

Third option, don’t use any semi-automatic rifles from the Japan TT, they’re all bad. Instead, use the Arisaka 38 in BR1, BR2, BR3 and BR4.
The type 4 is alright…
And I did (back when I played BR II Japan) use semi-autos on my radiomen specifically, as something to spam quickly in self defence, but that’s it.
Otherwise, yeah, Arisaka Type 38 all the way for the first two BRs.
I usually give my specialists in the assault squad a semi… usually the type Otsu. Otherwise Type 38 for sure. It’s the best boltie in the game after the Lee-Enfield family.
I have four of the Hino semi auto rifles and they are excellent. The Type four is not bad IMOP and is serviceable. I liked the level two Hei semi auto, but the five round mag didn’t excite me.
I’d say the Otsu is the best BR2 semi, really good recoil, firerate and reload time. But I love the Hei too so I use em both
It’s without a doubt the otsu. Has better stats in all the places that matter. It’s pretty clear.
