Berlin Uniforms

This may seem like a small detail re: historical accuracy, but - why do the Germans fighting in Berlin look like regular Wehrmacht with Volkssturm armbands? Very few Wehrmacht units escaped the encirclement to fight in Berlin proper. The German squads available in the Berlin campaign should be mostly wearing civilian clothes with armbands; mismatched uniforms; and the physical appearance of the soldiers should change as well to include older-looking individuals (for obvious reasons, I’m sure Gaijin won’t want to include child soldiers). The rare uniformed soldiers should largely be SS.

I don’t know enough about this (as a citizen of the US) to speak to it, but aren’t there regions/countries that have outlawed the depiction of civilians (non-uniformed) as combatants?

I know Germany (and I believe several other countries) won’t allow the swastika, but I could swear I read something to the effect that there were countries where you were not allowed to show non-uniformed civilians participating in battle (in a game, obviously).

The armbands were worn to mark them as combatants.
Actually the German forces defending Berlin were a mixture of a lot of units of Wehrmacht, Waffen-SS, Volkssturm etc.and we’re mostly equipped with uniforms except parts of the Volkssturm.

I should have been more clear, that’s my fault.

I understand the situation with regards to the history.

My concern is whether certain countries would permit a video game to be sold within their borders that depicts non-uniformed (i.e., the civilian clothed Volkssturm) combatants.

This would be analogous to when Germany outlawed the sale of video games that depicted the Swastika, and why many games merely showed the Iron Cross in its place.

Like I said, it could be a factor for why they (Darkflow) haven’t put civilian clothed units in for the Axis in Berlin…I honestly have no idea.

Thx for clearification. Actually Volkssturm members were regarded as regular combatants because of the Volkssturm Armbinde, signaling fighting personal to the enemy.
