Berlin layout is bad (Rant)

You can go complain to the architects from 100 years ago, and tell them, that their building layouts are trash.

And you can also go back 77 years and tell the Soviets and Americans to stop bombing or shelling Berlin.

Sure some obstacles are annoying like the trams, trees, cars, etc but tanks weren’t exactly designed to fight in cities plus panzerfausts being common in Berlin where some sneaky AT soldier can just shoot you from unexpected spots like from a building. The usage of tanks on this campaign are more situational compared to other campaigns unless the map is something like Seelow Heights or Koenigsplatz with lots of open spaces.

Seelow Heights and Verbig Station are the most comfortable Berlin maps to use tanks since those maps weren’t on the city itself. Those are the maps I enjoy using my gold card T-34-85 the most even though I do use it sometimes in Koenigsplatz area, Hermann Goering/Ministry Garden area depending on the situation.

So it was them that made every cap zone 50m away from eachother and movement area of 100m on each side ?

No history do this

Yes and i see a lot of flanking points i could have the use for on those maps which i cant in game

See berlin is one medium-large map and is divided in 5/6 small-medium map, most of the map are the same map reversed or with an alternative path so all the “flanking way you see are part of another map”

that bridge side to side is 600m stretch not 100

And you think they do berlin in 1:1 scale?

nah but at least give it some space

the space you are looking for is occupied by destroyed tanks, it is not that the map is claustrophobic but it is made to represent berlin after days of fighting in the streets, if they clean it to allow players to do Initial D it would compromise the historical representation, the only one decent

So in conclusion, the maps aint bad, theyre actually one of the best in this game.

Git gud

Dont play Berlin if you dont want to

yeah im thinking about skipping berlin for sure. Want more tactical game play instead of skirmish cramped maps. Not all are that bad though but still im bit disappointed in the layout. But also since the German team is even worse here then in Moscow

But atleast the IL2 in Berlin is balanced and Stuka actually has armor and an lovely 20mm

i Thought Tiger1 is immortal invincible, then i get One Shot by T34/85.

Since then the Fun is over.
Yesterday I had Hope when I launched IS1 for the first Time.
Then i get a One Shot from a Panzer4…
I stick to infantry. God loves the infantry.

I’m really confused by this. Berlin has some of the best tactical small unit action of all the campaigns.
Its
Not just a mindless zero rush to the point (unless your team is intent on losing).
You need to take and hold buildings, intercept reinforcements, arty and mortar where required, have tanks push with infantry, use smoke etc.
It , personally, requires the most amount of tactical gameplay from all the other campaigns.
If your team is weak in one area its exploited with great success. Unlike, for example, Normandy where a great pilot can make up for the shortcomings of his teams ground forces, Berlin requires a lot of things working together to gain success.

As for the teams. Not much can be said. It depends on server , time of day, and who is playing.
Get an inexperienced group of team mates on either side that dont understand how to work the maps, and its going to be rough.
But get two teams that do and it is intense, exciting, rewarding (in both wins and losses).

My playstyle, and skill level was forged in Berlin. I learned how to read the map and change strategy on the fly.
Soviets will absolutely rock your world in CqC. So you fight dirty on those capture points and cede them until you get to ones that favor your Mid Range weapons and tear them apart.
They are balanced perfectly and asymmetrically.

It can be unforgiving for the uniniated, but also help develop the skills you need to be successful anywhere else.
