Who else has been having a good time with the merge? I’ve been playing BR2 and it’s been very enjoyable for all nations.
Russia has good stuff, Germany has good stuff, US has good stuff, japan uhhh can stay in it’s corner…
I’ve not minded the new progression and after cleaning out all my extra squads I have little need to purchase more equipment or weaponry. I get to use vehicles I didn’t get to use before, and guns in some places I wouldn’t have been able to before! And, i don’t have to buy another round of pistols or grenades to arm my troops!
I also love the bigger bolt action focus in the lower tiers. It’s really great to get to use the most fun weapon type in the game and NOT have to worry about full stacks of assault rifles, drum mag smgs, or auto rifles.
As someone who plays all nations (that matter) I’m also pretty happy with the general balance, although there’s some stuff that deserve it’s own thread to discuss (like rifle nades and impact grenades and AP mines). Still, it’s been good! Who else thinks it’s a lot of pointless doom posting about it?
There are a few critical bugs and a few areas that need tweaking, but generally the margins are good.
The low BR matches are really fun.
However, the player base variance that was one of their reasons for merging has not been resolved by merging alone, and you still get thrown into matches with unbalanced player counts.
i am totally certain they will try aaaaaall the possible combinations to fix the problem, before giving up on the only solution that has certainty of working. like i mentioned in another thread, the solution as usual falls straight into…MONEY.
give a fat silver bonus for join any random faction in any random match, and the queue will fix itself. if it doesnt, give more. eventually it will work by simple economic pressure.
naturally, 2% extra silver wont work, neither 5%. it must be a SOLID bonus.
actually, i always thought that aaaaaaall the money and resources and time they dedicated to the merge would have been saved and the queues pretty stabilized by giving a good bonus for join any side, and even more for join any campaign, with the old system.
Yeah, BR2 is safe space for every faction until rest of the game gets fixed.
(I just find out PZ III M is BR2 too. What a beautiful vehicle. So I am just waiting for MP38 to become BR2 and then I am ready to play german BR2 as well.
Rn I main Japan BR2, very relaxing… I completely skipped D3A1 plane back then. Now I discovered how enjoyable this vehicle is.)
Honestly, I don’t find much problem with SMG balance, I think the mp38/40 could both go down to tier 2 and it would be fine. They’re a good counterpart to the PPS’s, trading fire rate for accuracy.
Japan has some really good players right now and they have much better SMGs than the US at BR 2 but lack a bit in the vehicle department, but again they have good AT weapons to deal with them.
Personally enjoying the new update myself. A couple of bugs, here and there but generally fine. But only because I have unlocked everything I wanted pre-merge. If I’d have to do it again on the new system, I would just give up on the game. Cost/progression is atrocious.
im gonna try br2 later since it really does seem like it fun but of course im more of a “see it and believe it” kinda guy (idk what the saying is tbh i just made it up)
Garand AT GL is at tier 4, not 5. Tier 4 was the old tier for the garand so they probably kept it there since the garand is the only semi auto they could put at 3.
Either way, the HE GL rifles should be t3 minimum.
i’m definitely having a lot more fun playing this game post merge! having actual players as team mates against a team of actual players makes the game so much more fun!
also more difficult, but at least the weapons and vehilce fielded is somewhat equal
