Bayonet for the Gewehr 1888

The Gewher 1888 was a largely used rifle by Germany in it’s Imperial era before the Gewehr 98 was introduced, and German rifles had long had standardization for many of the rifles had become commonplace, and this standardization had gone on into the 1940s with the Kar 98k. One such aspect was the interchangability of the bayonets between all the guns, which used dimilar style lugs to allow for the common bayonets used by Germany to be fitted to any rifle with a lug. As a result, the G1888 is able to use a large range of bayonets, even the standard bayonets used by the Kar98, but it lacks any bayonet in game. I would like to see one in game, but more specifically, the SG17 bayonet. This one is quite visually different from the more modern Kar 98 bayonet, as it has a more yellow grip, much longer blade, and a more pronounced guard (the one on the far left).

fun, versatile and not just a power creep attempt on a bolt action i love it

Speaking of the Gewehr 1888, didn’t it originally use a 5-round en-block clip?

Yes, that was the earlier version of the gun that used en-block clips, I forgot the designation for the newer variant, but that’s the one we have in game, that reloads with stripper clips.

Then it would have been more historically accurate to use the en-block clip due to it being the original feeding system when the rifle was developed?
