Bayonet Charge

On the new Tunisia Campaign Bayonets have been implemented. these are great fun and I enjoy them very much however I would like to suggest a mode where if you are bayonet charging say holding down the melee button while running you get to sprint faster and when you release the melee button you stab. Rising storm 2 has a similar mechanic and I think its great fun.

it would be nice to add the bayonets for every one that used them

i thought to make a similar post yesterday :joy:

either yeah, i think that would be cool.

perhaps link also the war cry to it

( a shame that other players cannot hear the war cry because it’s players client side… but )

Then 3 posts about it would be made. Nice.

It looks like it already exists.

what?

What do you mean by “War cry”

exactly what it means?

in case you didn’t knowed, your soldiers as soon they spawn, they start yelling.

that, is called war cry.

you can also make them shout on command ( currently, it’s on the " i " button )

but the “problem” is, only the player that press that button can hear voicelines. because it’s user’s side.

meaning that if you are with a friend, or you are behind an opponent, they cannot hear those voice lines.

And when automatically war cry is also not heard? It would be nice if it could be heard, but, nevertheless, there would be a cacaphony. But maybe no.

i… just explained that

yeah, although, i don’t know what it would require to be changed.

so i guess it’s just a minor detail.

It looks funny when sitting behind the enemy, your soldier shouts for example: “For motherland!” And the enemy does not hear anything.

eh… it’s a bit sad.

back in the alpha over moscow i always tried to go behind snipers, and shout them for then finishing them.

but despite pressing the button multiple times, they couldn’t hear that.
to be sure of that, i also tried the war cry on a friend to know if he could hear it, no luck either.

i believed i made a bug report in the past as well.

In Tunisia I’m not certain a charge mechanic needs to be implemented, as troops of that conflict were a bit less prone to charge to their death like in ww1.

It would be an ABSOLUTE necessity for a possible future Japanese faction however, where they could have certain charge benefits (like those from Rising Storm), fear factor, speed, passive bullets resistance… But only Japaneses, as they were moved by fanatical worship of their emperor.

A simple minimal speed bonus could be given for the soldier of other factions deciding to charge this way though, but not much more. (A bit like tge RO1 bayonet sprint mechanic)
