This is just my opinion, but I think all 3 BARs in the tech tree shouldn’t all be at BR=3.
Note: They’re all can stay at tier 3 in research tree.
The OG BAR (the first one) can be at BR=2 because it doesn’t have bipod and is not as controllable as the BARA1 and BARA2. This also mean if you want to play at lower BR you would also have a choice between Vicker, Bren, and BAR
The BARA1 is fine at BR=3 as of now. You can still do something with this thing if you’re dragged up to fight BR=5, but wouldn’t be too powerful when it’s in BR=1-3 game.
The BARA2 should be move up to BR=4 to compensate for the BAR being move down. This would also mean lower BR players wouldn’t have to face this thing.
The M1918 BAR needs a substantial increase in recoil if it is to be dropped down to BR2. I don’t think it is functionally that different from the M1918A2 in it’s current state.
Currently, comparing to the BARA2 (with all the recoil multiplier applied.), the BAR has 37% more vertical recoil (37 vs 27) and 16% more horizontal recoil (14 vs 12). It also has the worst dispersion of all the BARs (0.33 vs 0.32 of BARA1 and 0.31 of BARA2).
it does have a few advantages over other BARS, one is ADS dispersion mod when moving (11 vs 12 of BARA1 and 13 of BARA2), which let’s be real; you’re not gonna use any LMG while walking. The other advantage is its ADS speed of 0.65 comparing to 0.6 of the other BARs, which is less than 10%.
I will drop the argument on the bipod because it might or might not be “adjusted” at this point…
Now comparing to Bren Mk I at BR=2, <<BAR, Bren>>
Actual vertical recoil: <<37, 32>> (+16%)
Actual horizontal recoil: <<14, 18>> (-22%)
Dispersion: <<0.33, 0.3>> (+10%)
ADS Speed: <<0.65, 0.3>> (+117%)
I would say BAR performance is on the same level of Bren Mk I with different play style while being worse than BARA1 and BARA2 in lots of aspects.
I think you mean bipods don’t currently actually do anything and I personally agree with the 1918 and 1918a1 being moved down they don’t have any business being at rank III the they need to be nerfed first crowd can eat my shorts though they are shit guns compared to 1918a2 and are far underperform at their current BR.
Don’t get me wrong - I always enjoy looking back at what I wrote in the past, though this specifically is even more irrelevant now … considering that bipods are actually rather good now, yes angle and placements are still unpolished, but if you actually manage to lay down and place your bipod, most MGs turn literally into long range killing machines.
