We need Battlepoints …every squad should have a BP COST which will increase according to weapons and soldiers added to squad …now there will be a limit of TOTAL BP POINTS if it crosses you can’t start the game unless it is 90% of BP POINTS
so you can not just bring mortar, at squad and lmgsquad in battle …if you are bringing mortar you may need to bring few weaker squads or tanks to maintain the BP.
By this logic there won’t be a problem for veterans or noobs…yes noobs will still suffer a bit but won’t completely trolled by all those 3 above squads.
This system will also make people use lower tier squads or tanks BP POINTS…
you may have a powerful heavy tank but have less powerful infantry squad in battles and vice versa.
So you want to rate every weapon and squad and soldier and perk individually?
Because a mortar squad with 1 mortar guy is not nearly as op as one with 4 mortars and an engineer.
I think they would drastically over and under rate stuff.
Futhermore it would lead to min-maxing.
Like nobody would bring molotovs anymore, or pistols, on soldiers that dont absolutely need them.
Also they would probably have half a squad be simple riflemen because AI tends to die, while stacking the remaining soldiers with all gear etc.
It wouldn’t do anything other than concentrate all of the good gear into a few soldiers, instead of making them all as strong as possible.
I guess it would make “higher tiers” more accessible for new players as there would be a lower total gear ammount required to compete.
I personally loved the year-based matchmaker idea.
Like campaigns each would give access to gear that was used at that moment, but could overlap:
German soldiers with battle of Moscow equipment could also queue up for b.o. France, or Tunesia with Stalinrad etc.
Then you would have one global year-based progression system, where if you unlock 1942 gear, you would be locked out of France/Moscow if you equip that, and go for Tunesia/Stalinrad instead.
This would also offer more obscure battles to be added, as well as more minor nations (that could probably queue for battles where they only took part in as volunteer troops, like French soldiers that went to Brittain who then hit the beaches of Normandy)
This reminds me a bit of Warthunder.
There are mechanics from WT that cannot be implemented in Enlisted. Like this one with the spawnpoints.
I find the spawn system as it is now better.
my opinion!
Current system is entirely unlimited and punishes new players for being new too much.
Unupgraded bolt actions have like 13*45=585DPS.
The SMGs can have up to ~7 damage at ~700 RoF for 4900DPS.
So 8x DPS, and 1.35x health, are like baseline stats for premium/later soldiers compared to new soldiers. Not to forget all the other advantages.
That is already clear. I would have rather thought of a skill based matchmaker. (For example, based on the campaign level.)
The problem with the BP system is, if you take strong troops (IV/V) into battle and perform well, you can still destroy the new players with this squad.
So you would be putting people with premium squads, with that 8x DPS and 1.35x health with campaign level 1 players. As there is no campaign limit/requirement to buying these squads.
Campaign level =/= skill.
You can get to the max, even as the worst player in the world.
The current system allows for a realistic distribution of equipment, until the game completely dies of course.
There will always be more low-level players than mid-level players, and more mid-level players than high-level players. So mortars and flamethrowers are sufficiently scarce because they’re high-level weapons. Just like how not everyone has an LMG or antimaterial rifle.
Of course tank distribution is still wonky where the worst tanks are mid-levels.
It might be better for progression to be Panzer 38 - Panzer II - Panzer III and T-26 - T-60 - BT-7
You make a good point TCatPlaysGamezYT i was originally going to suggest something similar to a war thunder based spawn system. I do agree with the concept of an overlap in armies but i reckon what should be done that you can have an army that can play in multiple campaigns but it must unlock the ability to do so you keep all experience but weapons and equipment are wiped. for instance you reach level 50 Moscow campaign and can then choose to move on to another campaign (as though the squad had simply been moved to another front and as such was no longer using equipment from their previous unit.)
I’m not saying that @5762269 suggestion is bad, I just don’t see the possibility.
In Warthunder we get 450 SP at the beginning, you have to do something to collect SP. If you die directly, you get few SP, if you make many kills/cap/assist you get many.
In Enlisted it is impossible not to die. So if you don’t perform with your squad at begging and you don’t have enough SP, you’re out.
