Balanced planes

I normally play Normandy with Axis. All the American planes are op comparing with the German counterparts. I have to pump at lest 20 shots to American planes in order to cause some damage, but most of the time they carry on flying and bombing as nothing happened. On the other head if they hit me twice I am going down in wild spirals. I understand this is an American dev game but come on, sometimes it’s just ridiculous. (Not even mention Thunderbolt here). BTW looks like nowadays I got damage just flying to fast (no shooting or bombing just turn or dive with flaps up). Please balance the damage or at least give German planes more ammo so we have a chance.

It is a Russian developed game - not American - so that’s you shot to heck :stuck_out_tongue:

Also there’s only 1 plane that can KO other planes with jsut 1 hit - the Me-110 with its 37mm and 30mm cannon.

And yes - you can be damaged flying too fast - ther are limits to how fast teh flaps can be delpoyed - you can find them in the War Thgunder Wiki - it seems they apply here - see War Thunder Wiki.

If you go faster than hte limit given for the aircraft in that then the flaps cannot take the load and will be ripped off the aircraft. Happens to all planes in all the campaigns, and is a reasonably accurate reflection of real life.

So that’s 2 out of 3 that you simply didn’t know about, and the 3rd one sounds like a “learn to aim” issue - because the German a/c are perfectly capable of shooting down American ones - the Ju-188 excepted.

Post soviet Latvia,not Russia,lol.

The “main office” office is in Latvia, but the developers also work for Gaijin, and the tank and plane models are from Gaijin’s War Thunder - firmly based in Moscow.

Over to you… but either way - it’s not American.

Gaijin on Cyprus,no?

No - strictly speaking it is Hungarian, with “offices in Cyprus, Germany, Russia and Latvia.”

I didn’t fully understand the joke of humor.

What joke? The nead office is registered in Budapest. -

Gaijin is an independent European video game developer and publisher established in 2002. It has offices in Germany, Cyprus, Hungary, Latvia and Russia with hundreds of talented developers. Our HQ in Budapest alone has more than a hundred of highly professional developers working on online games for PC and consoles.
-Gaijin Entertainment - Gaijin Entertainment (my italics)

My calling it “Russian” is because it was founded in Moscow by a Russian chap, and so that is still how I think of it.

Still not American

Sikorsky Aircraft in my opinion, it is still an American company, although the basis is a Russian engineer (although this company was the basis in America?)

Of course :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

This is not a problem of german planes, all planes have problem with the damage model.
Or it can be with your aim, shooting fuselage will do nothing most of the time, you actually need to aim for the engine or the pilot to shot down any plane.

The damage model is much better now - I have found Soviet 37mm in Berlin will occasionally blow a wing or tail off a Stuka!

This… this is pure joy, everytime. It’s like making art of the annoying stuka bomber by turning it into fireworks. I’ll never tire of it.

bf110 with gun runs and noob tube rockets would say other wise for the infantry front and here is 6 .50s verus a 188 .50 cal verus 188 - YouTube

I used a gold order on a fully upgraded Bf 109 G-6 in Normandy and as much as I try….I can’t damage the flaps, even when making sharp turns out of dives from 1200 meters and flying at over 500kph.

Mmmh I didn’t try with a fully stared plane, but there’s an upgrade that lists as “+ something % structural something integrity”… could it make components more resistant?

yo what, this actually checks out. just dived from 2000 and got up to 600 TAS with combat flaps and could even turn without them breaking in the gold order g-6. but for some reason they break on the premium plane, which should in theory be the exact same thing?

they probably just forgot to code in the flaps breaking on the gold order one

Yep, that plane loves altitude and you can dive like a peregrine falcon almost vertical to kill tanks with the 50 kgs and pull out of the dive with flaps engaged to take on an enemy plane if one is in the air.

Ah well then you should have shut up and enjoyed it… 'cos now there will be a bug report and that will be “fixed”!

literally I have never been killed by those 50kg bombs in a tank its near impossible to kill heavier tanks with them. and light tanks shrug them off like handgrenades.

You can actually kill tanks with them by getting a direct hit on the roof of the tank. But 99.8% of players are not able to pull this of consistently
