Balance Doesn’t Make Me Want to Progress

If I work hard to at my job to get a raise and when I do they raise the prices of everything then I have more money but I can’t buy more stuff. If I am in a game where I work hard to get something that is more effective at killing other players but when I do you throw me into my own weight class then I never really see the benefit of earning that thing I worked sooo hard for. Enlisted keeps talking about maintaining realism. Well, I don’t think the Allies and Axis generals got together before the war and said we can’t send a Panzer into that map because the Allies don’t have anything to beat it! Realism is a mixed bag. You may be out classed at times but figure out how to deal with it. Stop spoon feeding people!

Too much obsession with balance “to protect new players” when those new players weren’t even protected from the insane grind sure nation progression only unlock once but had to unlock the amount of stuff before advancing besides they can just inflate the numbers.

I completely agree. I like sandbox chaos BUT with some standards. It’s a very complicated balance, plus everyone draws their own lines and standards

For example, it is completely historical for the KV to be in Moscow because it is an early war tank. Just because it’s strong doesn’t mean it shouldn’t appear

Or how the MP 3008 should be in Berlin where it belongs, not thrown into Moscow because it was arbitrarily decided that it’s a low tier campaign.

I feel the M2 carbine should’ve only been available in a 1945 invasion of Germany “campaign”

And I don’t mind prototypes

Over all my philosophy is basically “semi historical”.

couldn’t agree more.

Also, most people confuse historical accuracy with immersion. There’s not one single post where 2 people don’t argue because they don’t use the right words.

I also started only 3 weeks ago, and I like the chaos we have. It makes it more immersive…and war is chaos… and gives me an incentive to change the weapons on my squad.

With the new system I will have to adjust and limit myself for the sake of balance, throwing immersion out of the window.

note that I didn’t use the term HA

There is no MM system that can change that.

Current: you can have the worst gear and face the best gear no matter what

BR: if you unlock weapon from next BR, you will be punished for using it by facing stronger oponents untill you manage to get more of the better gear

Theaters (proposed system): a mix of systems above but with a bit lesser impact

Gear is great but I’ve done pretty well with basic bolt action squads. The problem I’m seeing right now is enemy AI are dodging bullets like Neo from the matrix and sniping from half way across the map. Mean while my AI go into the open and sit still with their rifles on safe.

So dev give up on BR, and keep old campaigns somewhat exist after the merge

It’s really nice to see your own thoughts precisely written out by someone else.

The game needs to be redirected to “theatres” rather than campaigns. That’s the coolest part about WW2 combat is the assymetrical evolution of arms. If a piece of equipment existed, I want to face it in the appropriate environs.

Everything it’s needed:

  1. Stop being a greedy snail.
  2. Make sensible matchmaking.
  3. Patch holes of online with suitable bot-players.
