As the title says,
There needs to be SOME form of balance between late game players and early ones.
I, myself, have only played a handful of games in Berlin, and our team seemed fairly low level. Nobody had any outstanding weapons. BUT their team… their team had two players who only seemed to use the DT29 and PPSH41… it was a massacre, we couldn’t take and hold any capture points because our weapons just couldn’t match up.
Both of them got over 200 kills and our best player was me at 83… (I only got this many as I was using the Lebel 1886 M93, something that’s pretty much a OHK)
Where was the balance?
How is this allowed to happen?
There should be some form of Matchmaker to take into account campaign levels and stop a Level 29 campaign player from meeting a team of less than level 10s…
I’m sure this is an issue in all campagins, but in Berlin, with the soviet SMG storms… it seems extremely bad

if you think the balance in berlin gets better in mid to late game then you are wrong sir

The Endgame Axis outfit looks much more menacing.

Well, as far as we know, thankfully devs from what they said, they are working for matchmaker based on campaign level.
But I’m not getting my hopes up. ( not because I do not trust DF. ) but how do you define players of the same level?
ELO?
It’s not that easy.
Equipment?
Money whales would ask for resounds founding the game impossible…
Campaign level?
Than we would have smurfs issues and matches not being very “ balanced “ as you might find players for others campaigns that plays that other campaign and wrecking everyone.
If I have to say, it’s no easy job.
But I suppose anything could be better than what we have now for sure.
I guess only time will answer.

This is a problem indeed, and it only might get worse as time goes on and “seasoned” players unlock better stuff but newcomers aren’t playing with similar level newcomers like now anymore.
Especially in terms of vehicles: a newcomer in a Pz II can do absolutely nothing against BT-7, T-28 or god forbid T-50. And it’s not like there is any incentive for the seasoned player to go back to older stuff like bolt actions instead of semi-autos or light tanks instead of heavy tanks (there is no BR/tier matchmaking like in War Thunder or “ups and downs” balance like in Battlefield).
Plus with the rather low player count it’s unreasonable to expect even more player division by SBMM.
