BA rifles in the new tech tree - make them just skins?

Many BA rifles are very similar to each other to the point where the biggest difference is how the sights look.
So maybe to streamline the tech tree a bit, we could have only 3 BA rifles and we could change their skins?

For example:
BA tier 1 could have skins of: Kar98k, prewar Kar, kiregsmodel Kar etc.
BA tier 2 could have slightly better stats and skins of: mannhicher, caracano
BA tier 3 could have more ammo (10 rounds in a mag) and skins of: VG-2

This way we don’t have to grind 10 very similar weapons that are overstretched to fit 6 tiers.

Sure, it’s not an ideal solution. But imo it’s a lesser evil.

I’m serious.
There is no point really in unlocking 10 almost the same rifles. Especially when they are spread out into 6 tiers.

Make them foldered research groups / sidegrades then.

Even I, who am no BA hooligan, would NOT like the idea that several rifles have exactly copypaste stats and are only different skins.

Despite the good intentions, I think your suggestion would make most BA even MORE redundant and pointless.

Tbh I don’t think we will have sidegrades. Devs went full WT mode with 7x linear progression.
Though it’s guessing.

I don’t think so. If I don’t have to worry about stats, I can take whatever weapon I want.

I understaind the variety etc argument. But imo in this case it’s done by force.

Well, to begin with, that may also go against Devs’ interest. Why spending currency on new guns, if they all shoot the same?

Besides that, HOPEFULLY the feedback from the related thread(s) will make them change something.

yea, sidegrades make the most sense.

Carcano better stats than the kar, in what universe, also no each bolt action has their own feel, like the smle, mannlicher, kar, Winchester, type 99 all being super smooth and easy to use, you’d have to include reload and animations with the skins since all the kars have different animations

Inflating the research ofc and make people more desperate to skip with gold.
