AVS-36 or SVT-38 (Moscow)

Hi I currently posses both guns but can’t decide which one is better.

On paper:
AVS deals slightly more damage, has more ammo and select fire option.

SVT has less ammo, no select fire but it has better recoil control than the AVS.

Now before you write AVS is clearly better, I do have to note that AVS somehow feels very inaccurate on further ranges. What I mean is that SVT will always hit where I’m aiming while the AVS has I believe much higher chance to miss. Another thing is that SVT will almost always down enemies in one shot while with AVS I had moments where I will kill in one shot and moments where I will have to hit a guy 4 times to kill him.

So if anyone possesses both guns in Moscow/Berlin/Stalingrad please tell me what’s your opinion and which gun should I use.

Side note: I armed one guy with mosin rifle for long range battles. Should I keep him like that or swap it with a semi-auto gun

It depends on how you play and what you expect.
I wouldnt equip all my soldiers in Moscow with the AVS. I am good with a mix. If you aim to be the player for medium ranges, take the SVT. If you are trying to rush and cap the point under all circumstances I would take the AVS.
Don’t forget: the AVS is only “playable” with an ammo pouch. (Same goes to the FG’s but off topic)
All in all, both guns are powerful.
Side note: the SVT is cheaper if you lack cards.
It is just my opinion.

Totally agree.
Only equip my engineers with AVS.

Thank you for advice

I’m also applying this tactic. I’m always playing the objective and rush caps, but after I capturing the zone I do need a gun for medium/long range to deal with enemies trying to recapture.

I will arm my AVS guys with ammo pouches maybe it will improve my experience

Avs all the way.

Once it is max star, it’s very accurate and so easy to control you can fire with it full auto while aiming at medium range.

Important note!

  • even if it’s LISTED to have high recoil… it’s false. Devs gave the AVS a recoil % modifier, effectively reducing it’s recoil even more.

Ask the Vault Cat (@Euthymia07 ) for the real values

Not really. In fact you start with 30 bullets total, exactly like any other semi. You really just need a big pouch if you plan on using it full auto (which you totally can, AVS has almost no recoil).

So in your assault squad, yes it’s smart to give more ammunition. For your less “at the front” squads, it’s not as necessary.

You definitely should take the ammo pouches. As I said: the AVS is good for close combats and cleaning buildings. I even use ammo pouches on my engineer squad with the AVS. No time in this game during closse combat to build an ammo crate, specially when you switch to a former AI controlled bot that has wasted one mag.
After playing a long time I am usually the one that supplies the team with engineering constructions. I would never rely on teammates for that matter.
By the way: for the BA rifle: it definitely comes in handy since BA’s were buffed, yet i would only use BA’s for radio operators that can’t carry pouches and (for me, my opinion) are designed to stay as long alive as possible. So if I am in a situation that they are the only ones alive, the BA rifle is the best option to gain again the possibility to call in one last artillery/airstrike.

Well idk about stats, but AVS definitely seems more inaccurate and less controllable. Maybe it received a tiny nerf in recent updates

Try it, friend! I played Moscow Soviets a lot, yesterday and got a bunch of AVS, some even not maxed.

Especially like the increased damage per bullet it does: down in 1 shot at med range.

SVT is also much cheaper to upgrade than AVS I think

AVS has more rounds though

Even without switching the fire mode, the ABC-36’s rate of fire allows you to literally overklick out to the enemy, since the delay between shots in the semi-automatic is much lower in the ABC. At the same time, in semi-automatic mode, ABC-36 is approximately equal to SVT inaccuracy (in my opinion).
But your bots will be much more effective if you give them an ABC-36 and set an automatic fire mode, but be careful, you can switch to a fighter who left one cartridge in the store (apparently he was going to shoot himself).

Ähm, sorry bro but this is the English speaking section, although I admire my Russians friends, colleagues and comrades.

no problem friend. I can put all this into a translator, but since in my experience in graduate school, I often deal with scientific literature in English, I know very well how much automatic translators distort the text. Therefore, I wrote in my native language, leaving the opportunity to translate to the reader, who can better compile the translation

All good my friend. Your suggestions and answers are always welcome. I just try to avoid that your relatively good advice will be deleted.

Now this is slightly off topic, but because I feel like I will replace the SVT once I unlock the AVS, is grinding for the SVT in Stalingrad, then transferring it to Moscow worth it for the orders saved?

I did 2eng squads with avs36 fully maxed.

I got used to it fast.

One of the best guns in-game once u learn it,

And tbh there isn’t much to learn.

Take. Avs

Upgrade it

Slap with it.

10/10 ign . I would avs again
