3 things:
- Split off BR6 from BR5
- Nerf the reserve ammo of SF rifles
- Make SF rifles start in semi auto

SF rifles have the same benefits as SA of being available to all classes.
The only way to nerf them would be to increase their recoil to ridicilous (yet realistic) extremes to the point they are only usable in burst mode.
If you make SFs class-exclusive, they are already nerfed to assault rifle level. SF dominates due to spam and stats; taking away spam would make them niche. Not sure if that nerfs will apply, automatic weapons are well liked by average players after all. And so far, devs only BUFFED them afaik.
Both solutions are “historical”.
Historically, most SFs were deployed as SAWs/ MG subsidiary, saved for the FG42 series, which was exclusively used by paratroopers.
Although only the AVT, AVS, and FG42s made it into actual production to be assigned to roles.

Yes! That is what I suggested. I think around the federov 25 level of recoil would be a good starting point.
youre forgetting the bonkers amount of damage they do. even the highest damaging assault rifles arent as hard hitting
Fedorov (25) has 24/3 recoil, the AVTs have 20/7.
The only reasons it is high is due to its ROF some people question wither or not it is historically accurate anyways.
Not gonna lie, making BR5 its own queue would solve many issues.
most BR4 tanks stand no chance against BR5 tanks.
BR4 rifles are no where near good enough to compete with BR5 SF rifles.
No jets to deal with. No insane HE spam from bombers or P-47.

sure but i more so mean the effective recoil.
i actually think most br 4 tanks face br 5 just fine. the only thing is russia needs apcr for its 85mm and a tt td.
pretty much all weapons even in br 5 cant rlly compete with br 4 rifles.
Jets also just completely outmatch all planes except like the p47d
