SF rifle spam is a problem, but restricting their usage after such a long time is unacceptable.
Such a solution should have been introduced at the start of merge but now its too late.
SF rifles will have to be nerfed in a different way, once body armour damage reduction is removed.

Yeah the only issue I see with increasing recoil is: how this is reflected in semi auto mode.
And how to balance the type hei auto in this system
Do we know if the system allows for different stats for different firing modes beyond rof?
A slight increase in recoil is a good idea but wont be enough.
Very high recoil weapons favour PC players since Mouse and Keyboard are crucial to controlling the weapon thus recoil alone cannot solve the issue or it will create a new one.
The nerf I had in mind is damage reduction, if the damage increase upgrade only increased damage by 5% than SF rifles would never down in 1 shot against vitality and would need 2 shots to kill an enemy.
This would be a serious nerf if reload time was also increased.
To keep things fair
AVS-36 would need to have its base damage reduced to 12.7 like AVT-40 and all other SF rifles
Type Hei auto would need its base damage reduced to 11.0 so it will always kill in 3 shots against vitality (similar to the M2 carbine, though Type hei would still have range advantage).
I guess we could at this point add tech tree 20 round semi-auto rifles for all factions, or allow SF rifles to do 15.3 damage in semi-auto only.
I say separate BR4 and BR5 and prevent them from playing together

yep, the most obvious solution.
The issue with that change is that br 5 is still unbalanced. Select fires and jets are the problem not be 5

You nerf select fire by making it have ridiculous recoil people are just going to get a macro using semi auto fire i hope you do realize that.

You said that if the system allows it could have less recoil in semi auto… so they will use a macro with it in semi auto giving it lower recoil.
You could do that exact thing on rainbow six siege.
br 5 has the most stale meta out of every br. There is no reason to use anything besides jets and select fires
if thats the case u can cap the rof on semi auto at 350… use ur head
Select fires are only good for rushing players… getting a good position with mgs is much more effective… i wonder why my buddy refuses to use rifleman squads… it’s because he doesn’t play like me rushing straight into the enemy but instead playing tactically.

Huh… i wonder why he then has a better kill death ratio and makes more of a dent on the enemy… while he is propped up covering a flank i am throwing rifleman at the enemy.

cuz this game isnt about kd or kills buddy. its about the objective. playing passively is an outright worse way to play.
So breaking the weapons id assume historical accurate fire rate to cater to you trying to push a different meta… this is out of line but do you play cod… specifically warzone?
You seem the type to like that… you can always complain about the newest weapon because they make it OP on purpose pushing a new meta after every update… and then next update nerfing previous weapon so you buy the next one.
