Hello everyone,
I would like to suggest a new command for AI soldiers that are equipped with anti-personnel or anti-tank mines.
Currently, players must manually switch to a soldier carrying mines and place every mine themselves. While this works, it can be time-consuming during intense battles, especially when defending objectives or preparing defensive positions under pressure.
My suggestion is to add a command that allows AI squad members to automatically place mines in suitable locations. For example, when the player gives the order, AI soldiers could place mines near doors, entrances, narrow passages, roads used by vehicles, stairways, trenches, or other strategic locations around the objective.
This command would not replace manual mine placement. Players who prefer placing mines themselves could continue doing so. Instead, it would provide an additional tactical option for squad management.
Benefits of this feature:
- Makes AI squad members feel more useful and intelligent.
- Encourages players to use engineer and mine-equipped squads more often.
- Reduces repetitive actions that currently require switching between multiple soldiers.
- Improves defensive gameplay and preparation before enemy attacks.
- Creates more realistic battlefield behavior, since soldiers would help prepare defenses.
- Gives players additional strategic choices without making the game easier.
- Makes squad command mechanics deeper and more engaging.
To keep the feature balanced, AI soldiers could have limitations such as placing only a certain number of mines, respecting minimum distances between mines, or requiring a direct player command before starting.
Enlisted is built around leading a squad, and allowing AI soldiers to assist with mine placement would strengthen that core gameplay concept. Instead of acting only as followers, squad members would actively contribute to preparing defenses and supporting the player.
Thank you for reading.
