At this point it's a mystery whenever we're gonna get anything good for the big action

So can we increase the size limit of the players in the lobby like in the big action mode so matches have more players to rely on or more people to fail you

Currently, increasing the number of players is a double-edged sword.
If the official does not optimize anything but violently increases the number of players, this will mean that it is 100% a negative improvement.

There is currently too much firepower, the map is too small, and explosives and landmines have been overused. If the number of players increases again, everyone will be uncomfortable.

So before increasing the number of players, I think the map should be expanded and even some maps need to be changed (especially small and open strategic points)
Then as the map expands, a bigger problem will arise: lack of transportation

So maybe what we end up with is a copy-paste version of the mod and adds it as a new game mode

Maybe this is not bad

im not entirely convinced that the maps we actually have are even completely optimized for 10v10 real players, specially noticeable when the game starts and you have both armies clashing on 1st contact.

big action have custom huge maps, i think? not played the mod, just a guess from reading around.

No. Big action mod just uses the entire play area.

All moscow “maps” are just zones of one big map

4x4 km if i remember correctly

Having a large play area (and large capzones) certainly makes the use of HE spam less effective

and also the action is much less concentrated which is not ideal for me, one of my biggest issues regarding big action is that players are scarttered around doing nothing meaningful, I wouldn’t want devs to open the whole map, they should expand playable area instead maintaining players focused on certain point of the map.

I think it would work fine, less HE spam, less single player impact on battle outcome, better use of transportation vechicles or parachuting, better use on range weapons, flanking and so on.

Why should be a mode a concern for devs?

Im sure there is a suitable middleground

why should it not be a concern for devs? if a mod is well received, well accepted and mostly liked by the community, what is wrong with the usual approach of “taking some inspiration” (or just outright copy) from the work that had such success.

remember counter strike and DOTA started as mods.

I can’t tell if you’re replying to my topic or something else ?

nope, not you, no.

Oh sorry for poking you then but keep up the good work but when it comes to DF i don’t even know what they’re doing at this point

:green_heart: :blue_heart:  :yellow_heart:

Because why would i play decently without gaining anything ? Does anyone play modes seriously anyway ?
You need a suitable solution ?
Easy and thats called communication.
We have no communication except text writing.
Zero communication = zero coordination.
If you think players coordinate more when maps are small then you never observed how people play.
%99 percent teams never coordinate.
Small map or big map doesnt matter.

Bethesda has something to say about it

Fair enough

well I know players are clueless but now they can at least somewhat be around the objective since there’s not much anywhere else to go.

with big action mod people are literally on different points of the map very often.

You are describing the current problem

Yeah thats why its the best mod.
You need someone to hold flanks, someone to snipe, someone to observe, someone to build rallies , someone to provide armored fire power from distance etc…
Thats called combined arms.
And you need space to do that.
Colliding in 20 meter radius objective circles like sheep herds meanwhile you have 4 explosion per meter every goddamn minute is called " pure f… chaos "
And nothing is enjoyable about it.

That’s the problem right there DF is targeting the smooth brain players instead of strategic ones because they are a lot easier to entertain instead of strategic gameplay
