Of course, what I want to say is that I have a group of friends who are by my side, fighting together. Maybe they are not very powerful, so I don’t really care about the issue of my teammates.
The combination of 4 and 16 is also quite common.
We really enjoy playing as the underdog teams, such as the Soviet 5, the German 3, and the Japanese 3. But when we encounter strong opponents, we will be completely outmatched and unable to defend ourselves. These strong opponents are very familiar with the weaknesses of these teams. They are very cunning. Therefore, I am eager to identify and address all the weaknesses that can be discovered, including those of the four teams.
I agree with most of your opinions. However, regardless of player level, I believe that in BR5, the infantry weapons of the USSR and Germany are generally balanced (provided that bulletproof vests are purchased): German weapons usually have stronger explosive power at close range, while Soviet weapons usually have stronger suppressive power at medium range. In terms of aircraft, the USSR had a slight advantage. However, in terms of tanks, the USSR was far behind, making it very easy for its infantry to be suppressed by tanks and unable to unleash the power of their weapons. Therefore, the T44-100 was reasonable.
I think Japan’s infantry weapons are slightly inferior to those of the Soviet Union (provided that you purchase bulletproof vests), and Japan also lacks suitable bombers.
However, we have to consider the player level - in the USSR’s BR5, you often see Mosingan and T60, and almost no bulletproof vests, which greatly affects the balance.
Overall, the USSR needs the T44100, and Japan needs corresponding bombers
Why wouldn’t I play to my strengths only?
Playing to my weakness doesn’t help the team, and my weakness would be a bolt action rifle, which is why I don’t use it at any level because I suck with them.
To be honest, I like my BR 5 Soviet weapons every bit as much as my German ones. There are certain BR levels that are harder to win with factions then others. Example, I can’t buy a win with my BR2 allies vs the Japanese, and like you, I lose more then I win at BR5 Soviets, but I blame that on players not weapons.
BTW, I do play to my weakness, but only in custom matches when I am trying to improve, like with bolt action rifles. It would help if I wasn’t legally blind in one eye, but after some laser surgeries that is improving, along with my rifle skills. However, I don’t suck anymore, I’ve improved to the point where I am not good with it, but don’t suck. ![]()
I would like to say
You actually think that the Japanese 5-grade rifle is a disadvantage???
The Japanese Grade 5 rifle is the most powerful weapon in the entire game, okay?
The Japanese Tokyo submachine gun also has a higher rate of fire and greater firepower compared to the PPSH.
Germany has a powerful burst in close range, precise shooting in mid-range, and better control in long range.
The Soviet Union’s weapons history was all about urban warfare - focusing solely on close-range combat. Mid-range combat was completely ineffective against them. The two weapons for long-range combat were the AS44 and the RD44.
These two weapons have relatively low attack power and are unable to win.
OK, OK. What you like is not in conflict with what I like.
I still hope to enhance the attack power of PPSH.
At least it’s not 3.3 attack power.
3.3 The strange value of 5 shots required to defeat the enemy… At least for now, when facing tanks, the 500-kilogram bombs of the Il-8 can still be used. As for air supremacy, it depends on the capabilities of the teammates.
Japan’s automatic rifle is indeed the most powerful automatic weapon - with a 30 round magazine, high firing rate, low recoil, and the only flaw is the sight. But don’t forget that USSR bulletproof vests have a 10% damage reduction, which means that Japanese automatic rifles require two rounds and submachine guns require three rounds. From this perspective, in a purely ideal environment, the USSR had a certain advantage in infantry weapons.
Compared to Germany, the main weapons of the USSR such as the AVT40 and Fedorov, had lower firing rates, but were relatively easier to control at medium distances. As for AS44 and RD44, when facing firearms other than FG42, they are basically killed by two shots.
Of course, this is my theoretical perspective, but it is definitely not the case in actual combat. For the vast majority of USSR Br5 players, having full level weapons and 13.5 HP is a luxury, not to mention bulletproof vests. In actual matches, I am almost certain that in BR5, the USSR was crushed by Japan. But this is a matter of player level, not the weapon itself.
Yes, recently I always use soviet BR-V.
When I fight against German, I sometimes can beat them. But when I attack Japan, it was 0-3, in the whole 3 battles I only beated 2 control points
Japan’s automatic rifle is indeed the most powerful automatic weapon
In fact, it was hard to engage the battle with japan, when you choose soviet union only
I must say, when I fight against german, I maybe win the battle. But when I fight against japan, even it was hardly to engage with them, I have never win any battle, it was 0-3
Hori was the nemesis of Soviet tanks; Japanese only need Type hei SPAM to defeat all the Soviet rifles/SMGs/AR/MGs; Although Japan lacked bombers, their fighters were far superior to the Soviet in both aerial combat and CAS.
The average skill of Soviet players is also lower than that of Japan.
Even worse, I heard that Soviet body armor are going to be cancelled…it will be a tough time for Soviet BR5.
Considering the tons of buffs soviets got this year
It’s simply a skill issue on the side of soviet players
They have all the equipment they need yet they are still bad
Try get to closer range by finding covers before engaging if you use SMG. Soviet SMGs are better than German ones all time (maybe Beretta M38A is better in BR1), and better than Japan ones in BRV (not that sure about lower BR ones now). Both ARs are also better. (it’s not that overpowered as Germany and JP rifles are better in BRV)
RD-44 is a fine gun. Some say it’s more like an assault rifle for medium combat range. Nearly no recoil and good RoF makes it good at distance.
Well, I agree. Try flank them with a Panzerfaust or throw a FAB500 nearby. You can take them the same way they take out a KV in BR3. Imbalance on some maps if your teammate hangs in the air with a starter plane as infantry can’t approach a camping tank on those maps.
Body armor already useless at BR5 now so don’t cry over it. FGs got damage buff and Type Hei usually needs 2 shots anyway.
Average skill is not a balancing problem as you can’t solve it by balancing
. Some tutorial and “loadout BR warning” for new players may work.
Average skill is definitely a consideration when balancing, at least in War Thunder, where developers adjust the BR to ensure the overall win rate of the vehicle is around 50%.
Asymmetric PVP games widely use this backend data as a basis for balance, and developers cannot attribute every problem to the player’s skill issues.
The significance of Soviet body armor in BR5 is that there is a 50% chance that they will not be knocked down by the first shot of Type hei within 20 meters.
At the lower level, due to the low attack power of everyone’s weapons, there is a lot of time redundancy. Tanks can easily destroy them because everyone is very weak or the tanks are also very clumsy. But at level 5, it’s completely different.
The tank will launch an attack from a very long distance. It will be protected by the loyal son. Even if the plane destroys it, it can still move at the speed of light and move on to the next one. The Japanese tanks have an extremely fast moving speed. It’s extremely outrageous. At a certain point, the battle between people might be evenly matched, but when the Japanese Tiger and Type 5 artillery tanks come into play, the battle zone will be completely occupied by light speed.
The Soviet Union currently lacks effective tanks and aircraft, and cannot obtain the air supremacy from Japan.
The outrageous 45-degree climb of that Japanese aircraft was extremely excessive.
While tanks are up-armored, aircraft got 250kg and 500kg bombs in BRV. And low BR tanks can also camp from far away.
Ho-Ri has fast moving speed but acceleration in not that fast, and it’s semi-open-topped. But it does have an overpowered armor value.
Soviet aircrafts have enough payload, and air combat capacity, just not as good as Japan’s BRV fighters. USA BRV is infamous for its airpower without any advantage in air combat over Japan.
My friend
I recommend you to play Soviet Level 5.
My friend and I often play Soviet Level 5 for an entire night.
Because Soviet Level 5 is relatively weak, it is therefore quite fun.
The current feeling after the update is that Germany is very weak.
Everyone is a fool. However, when playing against Japan, every game is very stressful.
[Perhaps the experts have played enough with Germany and are now exploring new things and playing Japan]
When Japanese players are not technically superior,
we can completely defend the position with Soviet light weapons.
But at the moment when the tanks are pushed forward, the defending forces will be completely wiped out at the speed of light. The way the defenders came is blocked by the Japanese players using tanks. The area is occupied by the Japanese at the speed of light.
If you want to use planes to suppress tanks,
you won’t be able to obtain air superiority.
At the same time, in urban warfare, planes are not very convenient for diving and bombing buildings and tanks in the middle.
Plus, with Level 5 players, there will be an awareness of protecting tanks. Rockets cannot approach the enemy.
Indeed, it won’t develop in 100% that way, but most of them will be like this.
At this point, we can talk about the advantages of maps.
Maps of Myanmar and Heilongjiang
Comets can be born in the sky.
As the embodiment of a perfect bomber
In fact, the one I played the most was the USSR (about 2700 games, 220000 kills), followed by the US(1200 games, 110000 kills). Germany has played very little (although they have already obtained weapon vehicles such as FG42-2), and Japan has never played at all. I have played over a thousand games of Soviet BR5, and I think you are right. In actual games, USSR BR5 can be described as a disaster (although it doesn’t seem so bad on paper, except for IS2- pure garbage).
The biggest reason why I don’t play Germany and Japan is that many players blindly complain on the forum, seeming that they won’t stop crying unless they get a button to kill their opponents. Therefore, I try to share my views as objectively as possible, without favoring USSR and US that I like.
But now I’m too lazy to argue with those people. Playing the relatively dominant br of the favorite faction is enough. If one day I think the balance has been completely disrupted, then I will quit the game, that’s all.
The Soviets have much better equipment than Germany and Japan in several areas, of course we’re going to complain
