You can make it more random and stop following the same pattern of fire.
You managed to learn where shells fall? Damn I just flee the red xbox circle and don’t look back…
There is a pattern. If you hear the explosios of the bombs droping you will understand
Oh. You didn’t mean WHERE they would land, but rather WHEN, right?
Mostly of how they drop. Like more out of the target the first two and at the end the burst / volley / fusillade.
And this pattern help mostly tanks and infantry to avoid the volley which is at the end of the artillery fire.
It’s normal. The first shot is in fact a range finder one. Arty ppl send just one first to be certain it lands where it’s supposed to. Then once corrections are made, THEN the full salvoe is sent.
It might be in RL. In the game it works like a warning to get out of the way because the volley will come… and I am pretty sure those playing artillery a lot, will agree.
It’s not really the range finding shot that warns ppl. Rather, the xbox red circle before the range finder shot even lands, on the minimap.
It’s also the red circle, but I have my doubts if a lot of players are really checking the map so often while they are playing.
You don’t? I look at it all the time. It’s vital while planning your route. Also when an enemy Salvo is being called, knowing if it’s worth taking a detour to avoid the xbox circle, or merely to wait till it passes etc.
Also fantastic if like me, you flank a lot. You can easily find the “front” by looking at your team on the minimap. Generally they cluster and all face the same way. Knowing this you can opt to take another route, build a sneaky rally point on the flanks, then proceed into wreaking havoc into the unsuspecting enemy formation. I do that all the time, every match.
In short: information is power, and your minimap is a gold mine of information.
No I always find out by the first shot THEN check the map like this lad is saying lmao
FUCK artillery
FUCK artillery mains
It is not a fun mechanic
Its right up there with mortars in how aids it can be
Artillery needs an arc and large/random splash locations within the circle. It’s not a bloody orbital bombardment from star wars.
It depends on your position. If you are out of the borders or away of the main infantry, they rarely spent artilllery on your squad.
